14.2.3>21 Life path

Hello all,

I recently asked "What should I do to get my life on the right track?" The response I got was hex 14 with lines 2 and 3 changing to 21. I take this reading to mean that I have potential but I need to use it to find the truth in the world around me. Is this an accurate way to interpret this response? I have been having difficulty getting the meaning of the two changing lines;

2:‘Biting into meat so your nose disappears – not a mistake.’
3:‘Biting into dried meat, coming on poison.
Small shame, not a mistake.’

If anyone can help me understand what I am supposed to get out of those two that would be most appreciated.

Assuming that I was right in reading that I need to seek truth I asked "what truth should I be seeking?" The response I got to that one was 14.1>50

1:‘The vessel with upturned feet.
Fruitful to get the blockage out.
Taking a concubine for her child,
Not a mistake.’

Could this be referring to a mental block? Hex 14 seems to make some reference to creative ability and I have always been a creative person. When I was growing up the only thing I ever planned to do with my life or was encouraged to do is make art. In recent years I have had a creative block while in pursuit of more corporate aspirations that I have just recently (in the last year) decided was the wrong avenue for me. I have returned to making art slowly and am thinking more about relying on that talent...

This is pretty much how I'd interpret your readings too.

One thing though. You posted from your last reading 50.1 rather than 14.1.

21.2 Is biting through meat which is very tender, biting into something which is very easy. I assume this may be the artististic endeavor, you refer to. It comes natural and easy to you.

21.3 refers to something old, tried, dried and tough. In the process of biting through it, you come across something which, so to speak, makes you feel sick. This may be your discovery of your business experience not agreeing with you.

However, whether this is where the story ends, or if instead your path has other lessons in store for you, in which you may yet discover that what comes easy and natural may also have a tough and bitter side to it, such as difficulty earning an income, I can't rightly say. These two things often come in sharp contrast to creative people, and this may be shown in the contrast of 21 lines 2 and 3. This point is further reflected in Wilhelm's commentary of 14.1:

Great possession that is still in its beginnings and that has not yet been
challenged brings no blame, since there has been no opportunity to make
mistakes. Yet there are many difficulties to be overcome. It is only by
remaining conscious of theses difficulties that one can keep inwardly free of
possible arrogance and wastefulness, and thus in principle overcome all cause
for blame.
