I had a good sit down this morning. I am the young fool. Not sure who the teacher is.

Enlightenment is only the mind overcoming itself. To say you are unenlightened is to turn the light off. To say you are enlightened is to stir anger within and animosity from without. So we dare not say it. In not saying it, the light returns to darkness.

This duality, the head chasing the tail, has to be the cause of unrest. Its not even a question. How futile this struggle to make life how we want it! Better to be in it and not contend with it. Better not to fear.

Things are not as complex as we make them. Anxiety is the grandest of illusions. Be anxious for nothing. Do what is required, and be on your way in peace.

I was reading an interesting interview the other day. Doesn't matter who and where, but anyway enlightenment was equated with orgasm. It builds, reaches a crescendo of incredible 'oneness' and then declines only to start again. My personal experience of spiritual 'peaking' and decline tends to back up this notion. Enlightenment is a moment , not a point that one has reached that can be or possibly should be maintained.
Another analogy I was given once was that life was like a chain when you get to the top of one link you have to come down a little to get on the next one.
