Which one is the better choice?

I asked two questions - - -
should I make contact and got the 16>39
Should I not make contact and got 54>52

There are so many changing lines I really don't have a clue.
The only thing I can come up with is 52.5 says "he keeps his cheeks bones at rest and acts correctly" leading me to think that not making contact is the best course of action.

Please help!!! I am so overwhelmed

Fan Yao of 54.5 which is the only line I didn't get in 54.

What about the other sixty two hexagrams you also didn't get,
are you supposed to read them too?

About the readings you did get:
They look to have some mixed messages, don't they?
Seems to be saying something like: You won't get exactly what you are seeking with that person, friendship may be possible, but the 39 and 52 refer to an impassable obstruction, and of not taking action.

Care to share some background to help clarify things?

I am always open to share! I just don't want to bore people to death with my issues!!

I've been seeing this guy, D, for getting up on two years. We've had a couple of false starts over this time regarding us been in a fully committed relationship. He is significantly younger than I am - not that that matters but I thought I'd mention it. About 5 weeks ago he dropped off the radar for about 10 days and when he surfaced he told me that he'd been in the hospital for depression and that he was on a bunch of medicine now. One night he was at my house and a bunch of my friends, who had never met him, came over. I was kinda apprehensive about that but they all liked each other and we all stayed up really late and had a great time. However after that I didn't hear from him again for almost 3 weeks except for one short text session. I texted him a couple of time after that and he didn't respond so I decided to just leave him alone - let him come to me when he was ready. I did a cast then and got the hex about horses running free and then coming back to the stable - can't think of the number and I don't have my journal on me to reference the number and line. I've gotten that hex re: him several times in the past so I knew he was just off doing his own thing.
However, I kinda got my ego bruised and was a little salty about it. So... when he finally texted me yesterday I didn't know if I wanted to respond right away or wait. So I asked the two questions above.

I think most of us here can find multi-lines daunting at times.
Read them all, try to recognize what each is referring to. And when there are many, I like to do that AND the sentence thing:
The Enthusiasm (16) is Blocked (39)
Little Sister (54) Keeps Still. (52)
