Sometimes I have trouble starting my car - not the battery, not the starter motor - just wondering whether it maybe the computerised key reader.

What is the possibility the key reader has become faulty

16.5>45

Hex 16 - line 5 - Something preventing the proper movement something needs to be corrected.

sounds possible to me that it's the key reader.

thanks

Oceangirl is it line 4 or line 5 changing? You mentioned both.

Wondering if the key words in your question and background information are "have trouble" and "faulty". The line sounds to me like there is something wrong with it, but it's not entirely broken. You'll continue having trouble with it, but it won't fail altogether.

Enthusiasm's Gathering - sounds like a car trying to start, doesn't it. It has to "gather enthusiasm".

Am trying to think about the change patterns, since Trojina finds them useful. Bear in mind I don't know what I'm talking about.

Yang pattern - the "door in" to the problem - hexagram 8
Yin pattern - the "door out" of the problem - hexagram 14

Hexagram 8 confuses me. Some people say it's about making a choice in the sense of choosing what to bond or unite with, so I suppose the change patterns might say this situation is about you making a choice whether or not to spend money (hexagram 14). That's probably obvious (and superficial).

As a description of the key reader, maybe bonding is in the physical sense, that there's something about the key reader that's loose, that needs to be bonded or joined somehow? I don't even know what a key reader is - is it something that could be tightened up with tape? Does anything seem loose? (That might be ridiculous. You may laugh at me. I don't know what I'm talking about.)

I suppose if it was me...depending on how much it would cost to have it looked at / repaired / replaced, and how long it would take for that, and how it would affect me if I lost the use of my car suddenly... on the basis of that reading I'd probably think about just living with it until it breaks entirely. My guess about the reading is it might go on for a long time just being problematic without altogether failing.

(Now watch that be entirely wrong. There's a lot in this I'm clueless about - key readers, hexagram 8, hexagram 45 for that matter...)

Hi oceangirl,

It sounds like your ignition switch is in the early stages of wearing out ~ eventually it could lead to bigger problems.

Here's a US site that gives estimates for ignition switch replacement by make and model, as a ballpark cost, in case you decide to look into it:

https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ignition-switch-replacement

Also, if you know any locksmiths, they can generally fix car ignitions, too.

I hope this helps!

Thanks Lisa even without knowledge of a key reader you've done a wonderful interpretation.

Thanks radiofreewill - will do some research!!
