Is this line about depression? Any experiences to share?

Clarissa-

I've looked at 16.5 as a way of advoiding frustration. I'm not to waste energy on WhatEverItIs for something else is (probably) comming down the pipe that I should prepare for.

How I Prepare: relax and forget about it.

I guess that the inability (or inhibition, usually external) to exploit personal talents or relate information of which I'm confident in some specific situations can be somewhat depressing, depending on how much I care; but it's not my choice. I shrugg it off; and focus on patience and awareness, for an actual opportunity will likly present itself in due time and all this will pass.

I kind of call this the "grain of salt" line; it usually comes to me when I'm dealing with friends or a casual business setting. I can't recall a time where it has come to me in any radical Change-of-Life sort of extremes...

Err... what's up?

What's up? Well, I keep getting lines that somehow seem to be about this sort of thing...whenever I ask about an issue:

16.5 -> 45
47.2.6 -> 12
12 -> 39
34.3 -> 54

Aren't they all speaking about feeling...blocked or obstructed? 16.5: you can't do anything. 47: you feel enclosed, trapped. 12 to 39: standstill and obstruction. 34.3: trapped in a nasty hedge.

shalom!
the 16.5 line is about keeping a passion alive by main force of will. Suffer for your beliefs. Its something we sometimes got to do to make or maintain a forum, or establish some kind of community. All the other lines are about getting caught up in negativity over one's sacrifice. 34.3 says you cant go yin, give up your chi when you're in a position of quiet authority- you'll just be left with the kind of sad compromise where no decisions are made.
this whole cycle is so familiar to me from fighting a divorce. came out of it with friendship (i think) intact- which was not originally my inner pupose (12.3) though friends were there to help me be good (12.4) the mess'd clear up and come back (12.6)-as it will if you dont moderate your demands on the world-

C-

Lots of casting with not much info... except there is a reoccuring 'theme', if you will, that underlies in the responses...

It seems that the only thing that is inhibiting, obstructing, or otherwise stopping you is... you.

Take a break. Walk away, for awhile. You'll need to come back, of course. In the meantime, pay attention to yourself; what is it that you value? Be a bit selfish, ignore the wants and needs of anyone else, and ask what it is that you want.(This is a private question, keep your answers to yourself) Apply your response to your situation.

Depression, frustration, confusion, irratability, and rage (the list goes on... any abberational emotions, expressed or not) are all indications that an individual is living outside their nature; in your case, it seems your intrinsic abilities are being applied to something to which they don't apply.

Peace is an effect, not a cause...

Am I off the rail here?

Hi Auriel,

"the 16.5 line is about keeping a passion alive by main force of will. Suffer for your beliefs."

To me it sounds like someone who wants to be a martyr...wants to suffer. Something like a whiner? "I'm persistently afflicted! Woe is me!" etc.

hey clarissa
yeah suffering can be addictive, and it is less expensive than other habits. . . maybe. . .
but, y'know, if you are the one in charge of keeping a group together, or getting something new started, you are the the only one that sees all the problems, the almost dying; no one notices the blood in the wine punch at your party (tasteless martyr's joke).
so the ching is nuetral on this, its just a job. . .

I see no martyrdom or masochism here. Weight bearing exercises build muscles. Resistance develops fortitude, so long as one doesn?t resign from effort.

I got the martyrdom/masochism idea from Brad's commentary.

Why do you think it's about resistance?

I guess because I don't view it as sacrificial nor for the enjoyment of suffering. Enthusiasm can make difficulties seem small. It's like when you have a bad headache, but are engrossed in a good conversation or project: it can move the pain farther into the background, sometimes making it imperceptible.

Pain or illness, in this instance, is a countervailing force, which is resistance to easy sailing.

There's another thing about enduring pain in order to accomplish something meaningful. It (pain) can reduce or decrease one's exuberance to a more touchable size, a more humble and gentle countenance or presence.

Oops, didn't read your question correctly. But I think I answered it in the second paragraph.

Afterthoughts are essential here.

you've got your passion (line 4)and wisdom developing out of sensitivity to the vagries of it (line 5).
it is a headache just to keep a fancy alive but to do so is a (resisting) strengthening aid to the developement of will, though it could turn you into a winge:
you just cant forget the last thing you said to her and even if its really truly finally all over you just have to make sure that she really understood that you love her even though by now you're sure you probably dont.

Thus the ancient masters spoke of "the changes".

the time to inspire and draw this person/situation to you is over, you missed your chance, but you do still have the unrequited desire. Although the opportunity for inspiration has passed and with it the energy, you can't forget.... but neither can you motivate yourself to do anything about it either way.

Being able to accept it is over and looking beyond it would be preferable. But the time is such that you simply lanquish. You won't die, but maybe you kinda wish you would. SIGH.

16.5 is not a fun time.
Eventually, though, you will see the light and the futility of your desire will be clear. You'll move on to following a new dream.
