Dear all,

I would like to share this reading with you in order to have a clear view of this line.

I'm in a moment of my life where a big whole cycle is ended (the most difficult, but yet the most important of my entire life, where I really got in touch with my true self and I have learn many things about me) and a new one is coming.
I'm in a 64 unchanging hex situation...just to be clear...
I feel like every step a I take now will determine my future...so sometime I get anxious on how to move.

My question is: what is my next step in life?
answer is 17.6

I had the feeling that it is something to do whit something not yet totally closed with the old cycle...that is still going to follow me..

what is your experience with this line?
How do you see it?

17. Following is one of those tricky hexagrams that doesn't make sense unless you study the whole hexagram and all six lines...
"Following" accentuates one of the key teachings of the I Ching which is that just as night follows day, we are all following in someone else's footsteps and that others will be following in ours. The Judgement tells us this is considered to be a very positive thing:
Following has supreme success.
Perseverance furthers.
No blame.

The crucial thing is to be aware of just who or what we are following. The lines of 17 describe the choices that then become available.
17.1. The first line of a hexagram describe conditions BEFORE we get into the situation described by the hexagram. So before choosing who or what to follow it is first necessary to go out in the world and have all sorts of experiences and meet with all sorts of people.
17.2 It is often tempting to stay young and innocent and even unaware of our potentials but one loses important opportunities by refusing to grow up.
17.3 When we decide what it is we wish to pursue we must of necessity put away childish things. This may cause some anguish but ultimately we know this is the right thing to do.
17.4 Once on our chosen path there is the danger of being pulled off by those who follow us. Like a politician who begins with a sincere desire to serve but is then corrupted by corporate dollars or an artist who stops creating and only produces what sells, we mustn't let our "fans" distract us from our original purpose.
17.5 ...which must be to follow that which we know is right and good, to follow our bliss.
17.6 The top line describes matters AFTER we have experienced the core lesson of the hexagram. AFTER choosing to develop our talents and potentials, to follow our highest good without being derailed by temptations for an easy life catering to those who would flatter us and distract us, then it seems good karma or fate kicks in and helping hands appear as if now divine guidance steps in to help smooth the way.

In response to your question, "What is my next step in life?" I see 17.6 as saying "Decide what you would like to do - if only for today - and as you put energy into your choice the path will open up and become even more clear.

Because the Image for 17. says at nightfall the superior man goes indoors for rest and recuperation I believe 17.6 indicates that one can call on guidance from heavenly sources particularly at nightfall as in saying prayers before bed. You might try asking for guidance to come to you in your dreams tonight or simply that you turn your life over to your Highest Good before you go to sleep and see what has changed in the morning.

I'm leaning towards the end of rosada's post, continue to follow the highest good, forget the ego.
Pay attention to signs from nature (25) and follow/obey them. Stay innocent of ulterior motives.

Cause when it's dark - you know it's time for bed, right? No need to plan when you'll go to sleep.
It just happens.
