Hi All,

I have received 17 1,4> 8 loads recently, all skirting around the same issue. 17.1 has a few different translations, 'the standard is changing' is a bit ambiguous, is this the same as the 'capital city' in some lines? In any case, the advice seems to be to get out there and start following the bigger picture, Hilary goes as far as to say to completlety get out of the known and the familiar. Does this line advise 'lose your current group'? get a whole new one?

Line 4 Isa little bit trickier. although i like lises take on it
9 at 4: Pursuing brings a catch. Determination pitfall. Inspire confidence on your road and use intelligence. No need to feel faulty.
For achieving something by answering to events, one has to stay true to oneself, and also one has to react quick and clear to anything coming on that road. Stay in tune with reality, and realize that trying to avoid faults will stifle flexibility.

The question I asked was 'whats does x want from me?'

follow the group?

believe in the union?

8 for me now is quite an open hex, especially the line that says 'if you come too late'...

I have anxieteies about the lateness part of this...

Thanks all!

Don't worry about the lateness aspect of line 8. That is not what you need to focus on in this situation, unless there is something not being deliberated here. Hexagram 8 is the relating hexagram so defines the context here, which is about holding together, or how to develop successful relationships.

Hexagram seventeen has relationship overtones as well, since the upper trigram relates to the younger daughter, and the lower to the elder son. Line says we must go out and mingle freely. This may mean that the other person is not looking for an "exclusive" relationship, but "playing the field."

Line four says the people who attach themselves to us are not honest in their intentions. You will have to decide whether that refers to you or him. The two lines are both yang so do not relate to each other as well as the second and fifth lines do.

You will have to take it from here and see what else can be deduced from it.

Thats exactly the situation Gene. thank you.

I'm a youngest daughter, he is an eldest son, and thats exactly what he is looking for. And I'm honest in my intentions, so he must not be.

Thanks so much for that, incredibly accurate.
