Hello! Over the past month I've been envisioning a lifelong pursuit that deals with agricucultural and enviromental sustainability as well as philanthropy and out curiosity I asked the Oracle what kind of experience I may encounter by pursuing this vision. The hexagrams themselves reflect previous thoughts I've had already of travelling the world to see it for what it is and then returning with my experience to nourish my vision. The only thing I really am having trouble interpreting is the first changing line, the others make relative sense, "seeing your own life" this is a pursuit of self discovery and growth, and "seeing their lives", interacting with humanity to better understand global consciousness. I'd appreciate your perspective on this. Thank you!

The casting seems auspicious for a career in sustainable agriculture. The first hexagram is Wood (plants) over Soil, and the second is Soil over Thunder, which in my opinion refers to sprouting fields. Rather than a trip around the world, I think you would be better served by a degree in agriculture, or several year of gardening according to your ideals, or a year of living and working with dirt farmers in a third world country. Many of the philanthropic recommendations for Africa and other impoverished places are impractical. Specifically, keyhole raised beds and tire gardening, both of which are good only if there is a cheap supply of piped-in water, and community peanut shellers.

Thank you for your insight! I was actually torn between two options: a) travel to Thailand for a Thai massage class (I'm currently a massage therapy student) or b) travel to Costa Rica for a permaculture course. It seems clearer to me which to choose. And your point about the elements associated with the trigrams within the hexagrams is awesome! I would've never thought to look at that. Thank you!

Hello friend:

When there are 3 changing lines, you should consider the hex codes of the base hexagram(Hex 20) and the changing hexagram(Hex 24).

The hex code of Hex 20 is "The priest is about to offer a sacrifice after washing his hands, he is looking up to heaven sincerely." Which shows that you want to do something good for the world. And the hex code of Hex 24 says "You will not get sick when you come in and go out. It’s a good time to keep moving forward. " So you can do it well if you wish.
