Happy new year to all!

I just asked the obvious question: what will 2015 bring? and got that reading.

Some context: I am mainly focused on my professional life. After having invested 2014 in training and gearing up for my new activity, I want to reach the goals and targets I've set for my new work this year. I'm working together with my wife in the coaching business, which means we are mainly working with people, helping them do better and reach their own goals.

At first the reading didn't appear to me as overly optimistic. However, at second thought, I saw a more positive message: that I should use discipline to concentrate on what is truly important and avoid pointless actions, dispersions, distractions, etc. Be a disciplined student, concentrate on learning what is really important and skip the rest. That would make sense to me but the truth is that I'm not really sure what the reading is all about.

Any help?

I think your interpretation is accurate. It could also be a warning from the Yi to be on the lookout for being too opportunistic or taking on too much in 2015.

Line 2: might be introducing the idea that you've chosen your direction and committed but your emotions are running the show to the extent that you may be imagining all kinds of positives or negatives. Too identified with succeeding? Keep the chill factor in mind and just do your best.

Line 3: This reiterates the same message but this time referring to an unnatural suppression of healthy desires whether mental, emotional or physical. Be gentle with yourselves amid the challenges.

So if you take lines 2 and 3 together and we get this idea that in 2015 you might be prone to see-sawing from anticipation to undue discipline /suppression based on the stress of your expectations and the challenges of your coaching business. Make sure you and your wife take time to recharge, relax and retain your equilibrium so that you're able to give your clients the very best of yourselves.

Happy New Year

Thanks topal for taking the time to answer.

I can identify with what you're describing and I think I'll take your (the I Ching's) advice.

Also, what comes to mind here: keep your feet on the ground and your head in the clouds.

Thanks again and wishing you a happy new year!
