Is there always a loss associated with 25.3, in your experience ?

How hex 13 is connected with that line ?

When something unextected ( sudden) happens and one ask for an insight is there any clear course of action, like get prepared for a loss and make sure doesn't happen ?

Thanks

13 is campfires in the countryside under the sky. Tribes assemble. Gathering of the clan, as in births, deaths, marriages, conferences and war council.
13 is the gui hun soul returning hexagram in the Fire (H.30) palace.
30.5 is a lament, appropriate to the season.
I have seen 13 crop up around weddings.

I'm very sorry to hear this Maria

hey but your answer reminded me of this poem below. I don't just quote it for your comfort but because it so relates to my experience of 25.3 also. In 25.3 one can be either the townsperson or the traveller passing through, and here, what is a loss for the towns person, is a gain for the traveller. My story, you likely heard it before, is this. I and my partner at the time had been given notice to quit our house by the landlord and we could find no where in such a short space of time. I was in despair....then the phone rang. A friend of a friend was a landlord and his tenants had trashed his house and left without paying him....and so our problem was solved because we could have the house straight away. Just before that call I had asked YI how we were ever going to find somewhere. Clearly for our new landlord, the 'townsperson' here, it was bad news for him, these people treated him so bad. For us though, the travellers, it was a stroke of fortune. Many times with 25.3 someone's else's loss has led indirectly to my gain.

So if I apply 25.3 to your father....you lose, you are left behind but he gains. He passed through this life, you here are the towns person, still living on earth.

Here is the poem that reminds me of 25.3 and dying.

"What is Dying"

A ship sails and I stand
watching till she fades
on the horizon and someone
at my side says, 'She is gone'.
Gone where ?
Gone from my sight
that is all;
she is just as large
as when I saw her.
The diminished size and
total loss of sight is in me,
not in her, and just at the moment
when someone at my side says,
'She is gone',
there are others who
are watching her coming
and other voices
take up a glad shout,
'There she comes !'
and that is dying.

I think there is a native American saying

"when we are born we cry and everyone else laughs
when we die we laugh and everyone else cries".

as to your question

When something unextected ( sudden) happens and one ask for an insight is there any clear course of action, like get prepared for a loss and make sure doesn't happen

No I don't think there is any precautions one can take with 25.3....Hexagram 25 generally is about those things that happen that we cannot control.

What is Dying

What Is Dying - Bishop Brent - A Popular Funeral Reading

I am standing upon that foreshore, a ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength and I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, "there! she's gone!"
"Gone where?" "Gone from my sight, that's all", she is just as large in mast and spar and hull as ever she was when she left my side; just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of her destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at that moment when someone at my side says, "there! she's gone!" there are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "here she comes!"
And that is dying.

Bishop Brent

This poem or a very similar one is often attributed to Victor Hugo or Henry Van Dyke

Another version, it doesn't seem to be certain who wrote it

thank you for the poem .. and the rest.

My mother saw a dream the night before: my father was sitting and chatting with his mother( gone a long time ago). She came to take him... That's comforting.... Makes more sense what 13 is

I'm sorry for your loss, Maria.

Funny how one of the kindest things Yi can do for us is to explain when no, there isn't anything we need to do. I think Trojan's take on 25.3 is spot on. For the ones who stay behind, a real disaster - but not for the travellers, the people in harmony without entanglement.

need to say , Thank you for your soothing support, here and elsewhere. maybe "thank you" sounds simplistic but , to me, it embraces everything I want to say.

Yi's message was pretty straightforward and although there was nothing we could do to avoid it, there were things we still could do .. and did. The fire of 13 warms the loss of 25.3

strange because I needed to ask yi about his condition because we needed to decide what to do ( medically) and got 22.6 >36... fire again .... disappears/ appears , like the ship ... nice reading .

Thanks again
