I don't believe I've ever gotten this answer before, and I got it twice this weekend... same subject. Looking for stories... experiences. If you've had an experience with this reading, I'd love if you share it.

Thank you!

The image of "cliffs all around" at 03.1 puts the subject in a dead end canyon, which means the cliffs aren't all the way around, just on three sides. The way out is to follow the stream.
Transitional hexagrams then take you to 08.5 (a go with the flow hex if there ever was one) and this is the same image all over again - hunting game from three sides only, letting anyone escape to freedom who finds the right way out.

Hi Val,

I see this as someone who has valuable assets or ideas, but where there is an obstruction to effectively conveying them to the persons who could most benefit from them. The ?feeling? is that of intrigue, or perhaps political factions. The defenses are high. Meanwhile, given the relating hex. 2, I would decide to carry the work or ideas until conditions are more favorable to present them.

Brad...

hmmmm... interesting... something happened right after I posted this question.

This weekend, I was discussing with the Yi moving from this job to the next plateau... I'm real ready. I used Freeman's book for the interpretation of 15 and the lines that change which I believe were 1 and 5. It said again that I'm being watching... being considered for... a job... or project. I couldn't figure out how anyone could see my work besides my co-workers and immediate superiors. So I was trying to figure out which direction to go for help with the next phase of my project, and 3 to 2 was the answer to two of the questions I asked in that regard.

Then when I arrived at work today my immediate supervisor was excited to tell me that one of my articles for the October website... a story she loves... is, for the first time, getting a by line. Maybe that's how my work will be seen.

Hmmm... 3 to 2 (twice) for the first time in my life... and today a by line for the first time since I've worked here. I wonder if there's a connection.

Love,

Val

I was still muddling through this when I left work last night, and I went home and looked up the line statements in 15 in Freeman's book and again had a good laugh at how direct and literal the answer was. They were 1 and 3, not 1 and 5.

15.1 - Qian also sounds like the word for a hard-working, active, spirited leader described in Hexagram 1, and is redoubled for emphasis, making it sound like line 1.3. Given this equivalence, it is no paradox to say that modesty can be used to begin a great undertaking.
(I know what they're saying there... same thing Bruce said basically... do it, but don't share yet)

15.3 - A good outcome is promised because of the leader's hard work. There is also the suggestion by a play of words that the leader is old but still spirited, and the matter at hand should end happily.
(I know what that means too - old and spirited Grrrrrandmama is going to kick butt with her project... *grin*)
