Good morning, everyone,

I've come after a long period of absence to ask you for help with Yi-jing readings.

Currently, I have just finished my studies in psychology and am preparing a thesis for the September 2020 academic year. However, I have to find a very large funding budget, about 100k euros.

So while waiting for September, I am looking for a job and I have started some steps in parallel with the search for funds for my thesis. I have already applied for a job and I am waiting for an answer, I have also been sent a job offer but it doesn't really correspond to me and so I wondered what I should do to find a job.

I asked these 3 questions in this order:

Will my application to the cancer institute be successful?
Hexagram 40.2 > 16

Here it is the delivery in a context where I must control my enthusiasm, I do not know if my candidature will succeed but perhaps the hexagram with the line 2 speaks about competitor with these 3 foxes?

Should I apply for the job proposed by my thesis director?
Hexagram 23.6 > 2

Here the hexagram seems to say clearly no, that it would be useless and would be a loss of energy, hexagram 2 in context suggests to remain nevertheless receptive, the line 6 underlines to remain confident towards the future since it is the last line which indicates a way out of the situation.

How do I go about finding a job?
Hexagram 2.1.3.5 > 63

Here I have difficulty understanding, I fall back on the perspective hexagram of the previous question suggesting to remain open and once again not to take initiatives. 63 in context indicates to finish what has been started, I see this as continuing my parallel search for funds for my thesis.

Overall on these three issues I feel that the yi-jing is telling me not to take initiatives, stay open, stay true to myself and keep doing what I am doing.

I thank you in advance for your enlightenment, it would be greatly appreciated considering the blocked situation I feel myself in.

Hi ymoshietsu

difficult questions indeed! I'd take a closer look on your second question, 23.6|2 - especially, as 2 is the reading of your third general question.

Be guided, this hexagram says. Be confident, and be modest enough.

And 23? There is not really an initiative in this reading. If your thesis director proposes you a job, this might as well be a guiding. Also, 23.6 is not such a negative reading. It talks about the inner strength which remains even in difficult situations, the core of your character. So you might think about what you really, really want.

And 2.1.3.5|63? It looks like a "yes you can do it with a lot of modesty and patience" or so?

All the best,

Hello Mandarine_23
Thank you very much for responding to that. As you've seen, it's not a really easy situation.

Concerning 23.6 it's a job offer where I have almost no skills since it's to deal with the psychological problems of children and teenagers (so far away from cancer patients), I think that even if I apply for this job, I would be really uncomfortable, it's like applying by default rather than by real desire so I'm thinking is it worth it, should I trust or let myself be guided by my thesis supervisor when it's not at all a job in my ropes?
your reading is interesting but asks even more questions !

I asked these 3 questions because I am looking for a job but the social services in France force me to find one as soon as possible and put me under a lot of pressure, so it is difficult to make the right choice despite the poverty of job offers.

In reality the ideal job is the one described in 40.2 but I have more the impression that it tells me to give up, to free myself from it maybe?

In a general conclusion with hexagram 2 coming back, I wonder if I will find the right job but I must as you say remain patient and open?

Could someone else help me following the tangerine answers to perhaps bring another reading or point of view? I sincerely try to bring as much information as possible about my situation.
