Hexagram 53 (groan but with jelly and ice-cream)....Line 5 (also got line 6)...but this 'line 5....how long is '3 years' in 'the woman does not conceive'. Any guidelines to determine the length of time it is talking about?

I mean it obviously isn't going to be 3 days or even 3 weeks is it? 3 months probably isn't it either methinks. But please, NOT THREE YEARS!

Anyone?:confused::eek:

I have had it mean, recently, 19 days (it was a long and anguishing 19 days, though). Also had it mean 2 years+ and counting, ie that question is still not resolved one way or another. I think the real advice of this line, more than "it will be exactly this amount of time," is what hilary writes in the wikiwing: "[when you] encounter apparent stasis, [use] the stability and rootedness of 52." (53.5 -->52 of course.) In other words it's not about how long--however long, it's going to feel like too long--it's about how you learn to approach that painful not-happening-yet feeling.

Heh, this makes great sense! Very interesting indeed. In February I asked similar question to this about the same situation..and got 18.2.52, (which being about psychodynamic therapy was perfect).. and at around the same time, I asked another related question and got 52.5.6.39 --- So many 52s!! And I am only now, nearly two months later, Getting The Message: "Keep still you pillock/ & keep schtoom on the hillock!"

Brilliant, knot!

Long enough to think it over, not long enough to wait for the next revolution.
