I think this is one for the books.

Q: now that I've squared away details and will be taken care of upon discharge, what will be the outcome of my surgery?
A: 30.4.6>36

I had asked Yi this the first time yesterday when I was still thinking of driving myself home. Yi gave, 43.1.2>31. I immediately took it as a strong admonition not to drive myself home.

So I asked again today since conditions had changed.

I see it being a success. 30.4 - it's quickly taken care. 30.6 - issues resolved. 36 - it's, in a way, been hiding my light. 36 as a background, an entrance into the surgery, and 30 all the light/illumination it will bring.

What do y'all think?

I can see that, too. I just realized, it's to fix an old injury. Injury - brightness hidden. But, the recovery will also be be cause of injury. Healing will be by fire. Transformation. The body, a Phoenix, rising from the ashes. Great news is, there will be a result I can share.

Hi, I see 30.4 as yes, it is taken care of quickly.
30.6 I read as an admonition not to act the part of a big king going out to battle, lest you perpetuate 36 (where the King, i.e. the ruler, must be in darkness because he has fallen). That's how I read it. Be instead, like a wise ruler. Yes, your brightness (30 ) is there, and now like a wise King, assemble what you need to conquer the foes, one by one, not too fast.

30,4,6 - 36 This is giving you a very similar answer to that given for your first question. Hex 30, Li, is indicating repeated ideas and the transformation of the upper trigram, Li, into K'un is referring you back to the I Ching's earlier answer. 30,4 is bringing to your attention the transient, impulsive repetition of many of our ideas, 30,6 is urging you to recognise the fact that if you can control this impulsive tendency you will "bring the country (your mind) under discipline". This is Darkening of the Light in the sense of controlling the wilful impulses of mind that we all suffer from - it is a very positive darkening.

I had the outpatient surgery last Friday. It went well. It was indeed over quickly! Very 30.4! I was surprised at how all was resolved. I've recovered fine. The outcome was good. I'm mostly happy, but feel like the doctor could have done a little better. Maybe that's just being a perfectionist and because it's my body. All in all, I'm happy. Function has been restored. And it looks better than before. I guess I shouldn't complain. Maybe 30.6 was about not going to far to restore order, as removing the head is enough to rectify. Hope this helps everyone!
