So, I'm collaborating yet again with another new director who I introduced a great concept to. He asked if he could write it and I agreed to give him a shot.

He wrote two drafts and I'm not grabbed by his writing; but his cinematic work as a director is great. I asked the Yi...

"Will X write a decent draft in the end?"

Answer: 32.3.5 > 47

This doesn't sound great. Line three shows my lack of confidence in him and line five shows the young man's misfortune (even though we're both the same age, I feel he seeks a lot of affirmation from me - so that would make "me the mature woman") 47 is showing he's confined by his banal ideas?

Anyone agree with this?

47, Legge:
In (the condition denoted by) [this hexagram] there may (yet be) progress and success.
For the firm and correct, the (really) great man, there will be good fortune.
He will fall into no error.
If he make speeches, his words cannot be made good.

I see it as he won't change[32], his style is his style, next draft will be the same as previous ones.
He is stuck[47] in his approach, limited somehow, he can't fully utilize the potential of the script/idea.

Thanks Ashteroid, I will give an update after I read next draft. My gut tells me your interpretation is right.

Hi again guys... hope no one finds another post from me too greedy. I appreciate all the responses I got towards my last posts.

So here's an update... the last draft I read was pretty awful. He can't seem to evolve his approach to fully embrace concept in a positive way. Yes, Ashteroid you were right as usual haha.

Today, I met a friend for coffee who's a brilliant actor / mentor - who loves my concept and offered to replace my current director. His ideas are much more in line with what I'm aiming for but he's so busy that it's risk - it may never happen for a while and I really need to get this project out of the way.

So I asked the Yi:

"Is X the right person for me to work with on this project?" (the friend I met today)

Answer: 25.4.6 > 3

Then I asked:

"consequences of disentangling my deaf concept from X?" (the current director)

I got hex 2 unchanging.

I really can't think objectively about these readings but I have an inkling at least that hex 2 unchanging is positive.

25 → 3 Yes he is good for this project/new beginning [3].
25 says you will find it easy and effortless to work with him. And he did offer to step-in himself, you didn't have to do anything right?

Consequences of disentangling, 2?
Trusting the universe, yielding, "The advantageousness will be seen in his getting friends in the south-west, and losing friends in the north-east", changing friends as Legge writes.

He fits with this project naturally ;)

It sounds clear that to disentangle from the first director is a good move. However, hexagram 25.4.6 is to me ambiguous. I take it: the second director came along, unexpectedly, as a surprise (25). But, with 25, there are unpredictable twists and turns. (living iching translation)
25:
Line 4 comment: If you can be upright, there will be no fault.
Line 6 comment: Unexpected action brings disaster. No place will be gainful.

Line 6 could be a warning: take action deliberately , with uprightness, and be careful of haste. For instance, check director #2 to be sure it will work out with him.

These lines suggest to me that you move deftly and cautiously -- while "naming allies".
Hexagram 3: Sprouting
Statement: Sprouting begins everywhere, abundant and pure. No need to go far: gain by naming allies.

The consequences of disentangling: 2 -- being receptive to new possibilities. I also take it as the manner of disengaging, -- maybe the situation will resolve itself if you are relatively passive (taking just the action required, no more) so that you retain allies. Also: it might evolve, whether director #2 is reliable enough to take on the job.

Thank you both Astheroid and Loverofknowledge for your thoughtful feedback. I will update what happens.

I love what you've both said regarding trust and being receptive...

"25 says you will find it easy and effortless to work with him. And he did offer to step-in himself, you didn't have to do anything right?"

This is a very simple, logical and valid point, Ashteroid.

Line 6 could be a warning: take action deliberately , with uprightness, and be careful of haste. For instance, check director #2 to be sure it will work out with him.

Thanks loverofknowledge...Thinking about it in this way actually makes sense. And I get totally what your advice is pointing to regarding receptivity. :))
