Hello friends
I had intent to do a general reading, how to best proceed after 50th Bday ( it was 2 days ago) - without a particular area of life in mind.
Here is what i got:
32. Lasting moving lines 3.6. to 64 Not yet across
I believe 3d line refers to something not permanent/ lasting ( me probably)
6th line with the "pitfall " in it i think is not a good omen.
I thought a lot which are the areas of my life where i am not " lasting". I had quit smoking and gained weight. I made couple of atrempts to lose it, but i wasn't persistent. Could it be that?

Are you very restless, always wondering if the grass is greener elsewhere ? Those are the kinds of behaviours I feel line 3 and 6 can point to.

Line 3 speaks of a 'shameful gift' which might be a life situation you've gotten into that doesn't really feel right, it can make you feel compromised. I think it's a reading asking you to look carefully at your values in order to make some beneficial changes.

I think it's a reading to think about quite a lot, I doubt if it refers just to weight for example, it does speak more of attitudes in life situations I think.

Enduring's Not yet Across - you can see the mismatch, how can something be lasting if it has not made this cycle itself complete yet. I'd think there's still many things in your life to attend to that you may think you moved on from. Line 6 quite firmly tells you to stop agitating, stop fretting, slow down deal with what's in front of you rather than think of several different futures you might have.

These aren't bad omens but they are asking to change current attitudes in some way. As I don't know you or your life I can't say what that is exactly.

Trojina, thank you from the bottim of my heart for the reply! 🙏

Yes, absolutely! That's me...

I live in quite specific circumstances ( well, "specific" for someone from a developed country, quite "normal" where i am from.)

I think it's a reading asking you to look carefully at your values in order to make some beneficial changes.
Thank you for this insight, it's much appreciated.

I agree 100%
The weight is consequence, my whole attitude is probably wrong.
( I had heart-attack 5y ago and clinical death. I started working 6 days after being releised from the intensive care. )Long story short: i am sure i am wrong because i dont feel well, yet i have to work and i am constantly under stress.

My close friend who is at the same time a Lama in a Tibetan Buddhist tradition told me the same thing, to slow down.

Thank you so much for the time you took to reply. It does mean a lot to me. Thank you once again.

"How shall I proceed?"
32.3.6 > 64 .
64 as context - Before Completion = Unfinished Business. The Yi is addressing what you have yet to do.
Well we do have a limited amount of time here.
32 - this is not reading the lines but when I see a person named "Little Buddha" asking what to do now and the answer has 50 unfinished business and 32 which is one of the 4 marriage hexes I think "get married!" But I might always think that and be jumping to a conclusion. ;) Anyway...

32.3 - While this line describes a person who cannot maintain their virtue, your actual question was what you should do so I would not take it as a direct criticism. Rather it says what you should do is establish sustainability in that area. In other words - get married and stop being a player! Lol. Kidding.
But they do say there is nothing wrong or less spiritual about being a householder.
You may already be one and this does not apply this way, it may of course be speaking of other virtues.

32.6 - You need to value sustainability over other passions at this point in life.

The grass may in fact be greener somewhere else, but even so at this point you need to establish your own lawn that you can sustainably appreciate and take care of.
Hope this helps.

I feel like that since 13 yo, or so... There's no time! Must dash! I am too old! 🤦‍♀️

Oh, I'd love to!

My mother is saying the same thing! ))))

I keep two households ( mine and parents') in addition to two jobs. Which is, one being "careeer" ( i published 4 collections of poetry, two novels and a collection of essays), and the other one, " daily job" (court interpreter).
I had 3d one lol, but state uni where i thought closed down.
I didn't work during pandemics, so i feel relaxed, but normally it's just too much of a workload, it's both physically and mentally exhausting.

Yes, it's been like that for a while. I mean, it has to be like that, else you lose what you have. ( What i mean is, I'd rather buy some more rare Tarot decks than be paying property tax, but it's out of question ;)

I emigrated where i live now, albeit my ancestors are from here. I survived two more migrations due to Bslkan wars ( ex Yugoslavia). I do dream of moving to greener pastures, but as of now i am not sure how realistic it is.
Thank you very much for your insights! Much appreciated!

"If not now, when?"

You're fifty now so I think the I Ching is saying it's time to focus on your goals and make things happen. Like getting around to losing weight, it appears you want to but you get distracted by a cheese ball here and a cookie there and this will continue forever if you don't come up with a real plan to do things differently.

Hi LittleBuddha! Sorry you couldn't participate yesterday, but you've got some excellent replies here.

About the overall framework of the reading, Lasting, Not Yet Across. Trojina mentioned the tension between the two hexagrams. Specifically...

Lasting says it's 'fruitful to have a direction to go'; I think that's because you are always creating your life and your self with your habits ('we are what we repeatedly do'), and so lending direction to that means you create something intentionally, not on autopilot.

Not Yet Across says 'no direction bears fruit' - but I think this is the voice of the small fox, who knows that if she commits to the wrong course across the frozen river, she'll get disastrously stuck. So she will be very cautious about committing herself at all.

So... I think that's the core tension of the reading: on the one hand, creating your life with what you do every day and needing to do that intentionally; on the other hand, being very wary of committing to a direction of change. And this creates the awkward tension in the lines - not feeling quite right with what you have in line 3, but maybe over-reacting to that in line 6. I think that one can hint of perfectionism: aspiring to something pure and untarnished, and hence wanting to chuck out whatever isn't quite right and start afresh. Better to start from where you are and use what's to hand.
