32 unchanging - moving in with someone

Hi all,

I was hoping you could assist again - I'm not sure which way this reading is leading me. I asked the iching if I should move in with someone I am in a relationship with. I can't tell if this reading is telling me wait, or to continue on with my plans of moving in with them.

Can anyone help here?

Not sure, but it sounds like you are offered a meditation on living harmoniously together with a partner. This hexagram somehow describes what would be involved in the relationship. The give and take. If you are in a leading role, be considerate of the partner who is moving with you.

Wow. Of all 64 hex, 32 is the one that has the most significance in marriage. 32 is the 2nd hex for the IC "Lower Scripts" (hex 31-64). Lower script focuses on the change rythmes of human material life. Humanity begins with courtship, signified by hex 31, and then followed by long-lasting marriage, which is signified by hex 32. Here is the interpretation text I use for 32uc, which I titled as "Perpetuating righteous causes".

"Perpetuity is a desired state for many human endeavors especially in marriage. Practicing perpetuity shall result in no future regret. Whether it is sustaining motion or enhancing stability, perpetuity is beneficial to achieve set goals and persistence is the essence of perpetuity."

What does this mean? If you read through the whole hex, including meanings of all 6 lines, you will find marriage is not "happily ever after". It is a road with a lot of bumps that includes pressure, anxiety, impatience, even humiliations. The road is so bumpy because you two are starting a brand new phase of relationship, just like starting a new business, aiming for a sustainable and rewarding new future. As long as both sides are ready to build a new, sustainable future together, the "bumps" can strengthen your bond, thus going forward shall not result in any regret.
