I've been reading Online Clarity since 2009 and have learned a lot from this forum (thanks everyone!). I am finally ready to contribute something.

I asked the I Ching, "How do I put my life in order?" and received Hexagram 34.3.4 change to 19.

Context: I'm a late-20 something who moved in with a boyfriend overseas (have known him for years) and returned to higher ed abroad. I recognized going into it that the context would be imperfect, but wanted the whole imperfect picture anyway. The relationship has ended up sucking, and I'm not entirely sure I want the degree I'm pursuing.
What has been missing in my life are family and close friendships - I've pursued various work opportunities in different parts of the US out of idealism/careerism, but have often been lonely - and, like most of my peers right now, the uncertain feeling of whether I'm on "the right" path.

Here is what I think 34 (The Power of the Great) means in this context...
Key ideas: inner-worth mounting; natural timing ("harmony"); operating within an established order. I know thunder is in The Image, but for some reason I think of flowers growing in the spring...
= how I devote my time will result in the life I end up producing on its own accord.
34.3 - the superior man doesn't get ahead of himself (doesn't flaunt power too soon), but acts according to natural pacing
34.4 - the superior man continues to remove resistances in the life until the way is open

Here is what I think 19 (Approach) means in my context...
Key ideas: spring energy; making use of clarity (spring energy) before winter; fortification of self and self-in-context-to-environment.

I interpret this reading as offering the following advice - in order to put my life in order, I need to be honest about what is and isn't working in the way I make life choices. Perhaps 34.3.4 to 19 means that to put my life in order, I need to "remove resistances" (unsupportive, immature relationship; obstacles regarding school) and try something new after laying the right ground work... maybe this means moving back to the US and building the right foundation? Maybe this means going with the flow but finding a different place to live? I'm leaning toward the latter, but am still meditating on the Hexagram.

Is this interpretation how others have experience 34.3.4.? Any thoughts are most appreciated! :bows:

- - - For additional background, I had also asked the I Ching during the reading-set, which supports the above,
"What is the best way to use Summer 2015?" - 56.5.6. to 31.
"Staying in the area and completing this degree?" - 51.4. to 24.
