that line, 35.4, always puzzles me.

The manager responsible for my account from the moment he had took it creates a lots of problems to me and his colleagues with whom we have spend many hours to fix the mess he creates. His supervisor, a really good manager, knows a little about the problems as I tried in the past to solve problems on my own and just ask some extra time because of those " unfortunate " mistakes but seems its not the right way to deal with it.

Asking Yi for the most appropriate course of action got 35.4>23.
either its about my approach till now, accepting his unprofessional behavior by fixing the errors and not the real problem. So maybe its time to make an official complain and ask to replace him or find a solution.

35.4 could also describe him. I try not to involve myself to gossips etc, but its well known he is one of the protected employees, after the company was acquired from a bigger company and those have to work with him, try to avoid him and let him play with his iphone

what is your experience re this line and how would you read it in this context ?

thanks in advance

Daniels writes 35.4. Your way of progressing is unworthy.

I think you should do something more open and substantial about it, don't try to downplay it.
Why hide the issue?

Hah, Huang writes my thoughts: Presenting a bold front is wildly applauded, acting stealthily or timidly would be dangerous.

Yes, strip away the dead wood, the manager. Get a new one if you are allowed to.

I don't hide it as in order to correct some mistakes need to ask permission from some higher level managers in other department so it is known. Yet I do downplay it as we are all in transition state and try not to make a fuss. Maybe I'm more tolerant that i should be and from the beginning of the year those mistakes, as the laws have changed , can really put me into trouble. The danger that line warns, worries me a bit.

Thank you Ash for your insight.

I read this a bit differently...

35.4>23

Progress is being a dutiful subordinant (35) by allowing the other person's mistakes to be revealed (23); as it will bring it out into the light or the attention of others that this person is not up to the job. (4 talks about people who have amassed great possessions but are in the wrong places and that this leads to danger.)

Hi anemos, I read this line as the only way to progress is NOT keep doing what you been doing - in the long run it will only cause serious problems. - LIss

thanks guys,

funny that thread surfaced as this weekend took some work home- yes, his mistakes- to finish that darn thing. Due to new policies have a meeting with his supervisor , so I'll express my concerns

oh, and will change my tactic and stop correcting his mess. maybe that way he will pay more attention to his duties .

thanks again.

Needed to ponder more on that. I recall getting 37.1 for the same matter and yesterday asked again and got 18.2. What occurred to me was that all those reading describe him and myself as well or else , the situation. He is not in the right place, that is clear yet I'm not in the 'right place' either. 18.2,to me says that I've "overprotect" him and assumed his duties for mine. Your comment reduced my confusion re that line. Many thanks .

you are right ! Heavy multitasking is one of the traits caused me problems in the past. Have reduced it a lot yet its still there and this instant made it more clear- the light. My duties involve very different tasks so multitasking is something i can't avoid but still I can refuse doing other's job... an AHA -23 moment with a bit of ouch !!!

thanks Liss, very helpful comment !!!

Oo ouch indeed - I guess the truth either hurts us or gets us moving to get sorted so we don't keep hurting ourselves. Good on you anemos for recognising your downfalls or whatever you want to call them and looking at correcting them. Not everyone is open to it. - Liss
