I was a house guest and this was the first time I had met this person. I don't have any idea how to read this how this went. I asked what was their feelings about me and 36.1.3>2.

Hexagram 2 is considered being or learning to be receptive and following as the mare does. 36 is considered wounding, darkening of the light, or something hidden.

I read it as, "Learn to be receptive of this person and their feelings will no longer be hidden"

I have often had 36 line 1, whenever I have some type of anxiety or nervousness regarding another person or situation, where the answer is not clear. Line 1 is saying the answer is not clear to you. But that if you continue probing, eventually you'll make the connection, and the answer will become clear. Can you not simply ask this person, "How do you feel?"

Line 2... did you share a good meal with this person or intimacy? I ask because of Lise take on the line. A solution or a way forward seems to eventually be found. You make some kind of connection through physical pleasures that eventually connects in the mind. The pleasures can be through a good meal shared or physical intimacy.

Its as if Yi didn't give you an answer but only advice to follow in order to learn the answer for yourself.
