My question was about the intention/why behind why someone at work had been ignoring me

multiple messages without reply and my friend on the other hand said this person responded to a message of theirs within the same day

eventually i got a more senior member of staff to get that person to do something for me, they did it straight away, but i don't know why they ignored me

particularly as i've barely said 2 words to them and only ever liked them. we are currently all working from home so although in person they were fine with me, over the internet i'd just been completely blanked

generally this hexagram reminds me of tough situations but i still don't find it a very clear answer, i always find this hexagram 36 feels like it's telling me to just deal with it haha based on past times i drew this.

i'm not even trying to get that person to stop ignoring me, i'm just really interested in human behaviour and am so confused by this that i really want to know why.the changing line reminds me of the fact that i got someone else to get this person to sort something for me and not to push it any more, but that doesn't really answer the question i asked

Hello;

the line indicates after the leader of darkness is caught, afflicted perseverance isn't possible. You should go to the heart of matter. Talk with that person about your messages being ignored and further problems.
24- Return; Recovery- promises that the things will come back to normal after that.

36.3 - 24 : then I would be less valiant than Marybluesky with 36... A hexagram that advises to instead veil your light in front of this dark person who does not respond. With 24, it seems that the return is planned between you, so I'd rather let things evolve without worrying too much about this person... If it's possible ? Because I don't know how much you need to be in touch with her for your work...

Your question was "why has ( person X ) at work been ignoring me?"
36.3 - 24
24 as context - Returning to yourself and your home. Not venturing out. The person seems wrapped up in themselves and is not venturing out. This is the aspect of your question the Yi is answering, this is how the Yi describes what you describe as "ignoring you." Also 24 is also a good description perhaps of working from home.
36 is sometimes called Clouded Perception, as well as concealing one's brightness or wisdom.
36.3 Wilhelm/Baynes: "Darkening of the light during the hunt in the south. Their great leader is captured. One must not expect perseverance too soon."
It sounds to me here, the person you refer to is very busy or very ambitious, working on important clients or an important situation. They feel that has precedence over helping you, or perhaps they are territorial and are afraid others might take their quarry, and that is not going to change anytime soon.

My advice would be work around them as much as possible for the time being at least.

this is very old, and I’m hoping I remember the correct person this was about, if I am, the following quote pasted at the bottom is very true… I realised after, this person ignores a lot of similar other requests from people because they have their own domain and area and other important work that they’re focused on, they aren’t really inclined to help with the type of request I made

“It sounds to me here, the person you refer to is very busy or very ambitious, working on important clients or an important situation.”
