Need a bit of help on this one as these are new hexagrams to me.

The question I asked was "What does X need from me in this letter?" I believe I'm getting a message about establishing stable, clear boundaries (I misinterpreted some information and busted through boundaries I would never have approached otherwise.), but I'm not sure what else to do with this one. Will think on it more, and would love to hear anyone's thoughts as well.

Attempting to clarify a misunderstanding. I am currently separated from my husband. The separation has been beneficial for both of us and our six year old daughter appears to be emotionally healthy through it all.

Throughout this separation I've been in sporatic contact with a man I knew long ago. We have always been mutually interested, but this time a misunderstanding has created a problem and allowed me to indulge in projections, et al. I need to clarify what happened. Not to defend myself, but simply to show where I began to draw the wrong conclusions. So I want to understand what he needs to hear from me; I wanted a clearer understanding of his perspective.

37's about family, the inner group, the people you're closest to and trust and support. 39's about hampered advance, the image of which is limping. Put 'em together and what do you get? The guy you're talking about is like family - he's 'on the inside' with you emotionally and psychologically, but all that is 'limping' right now. This is the image the Yi's given you of the situation, but if you apply it to your specific question, then it seems to be saying something like: "He needs to hear from you that he's 'on the inside' with you, but that the relationship's going through a stage of hampered advance." Pretty much a matter of stating the obvious, I think.

The details: 37.1 talks about being safely enclosed in the bosom of the family, and remorse disappearing. Nice. Tell him that.

37.6 talks about how as you capture the truth here, you embody poise and dignity, and how in taking this situation or phase of the relationship to its natural, organic outcome, you have good fortune. Nice. Tell him that.

I'm new to the Yi, and this is my first attempt at a yarrow stick divination--an experience I very much enjoyed. Good to slow down my over-active (at times) mind.
