37 <6> 63 'family'

I would like to share my cast with you for one more time!
Actually, I asked if I will 'make' my own family (my own children with a husband)!
And of course Yi answered with 37 (family) line 6 to hexagram 63... (aha moment)

family to after completion... So is it so obvious that I will have a family?

I have received line 6 a lot of times recently and I hope there is someone with experience with it to help me to understand!

When line 6 only changes, this shows that the situation is far removed from the original hexagram.
So the situation here is far removed from the notion of "family".

37.6 speaks of offspring, so you might have a child.
The line also contains a character which means 'dominant woman holding weapon'.
Resulting 63 shows a good relationship, where all male and female lines are in their appropriate positions.

The answer overall sounds to me like, family no, but if you have a child and behave dominantly, then "good fortune" and you'll then also acquire a relationship.

Yes I think that's what it means, that it's to your benefit to have a child first, then if you behave dominantly you'll also get a guy and have a nice relationship (not sure about marriage, but obviously having a good relationship is of paramount importance).

Yes I am not sure about marriage either, but for me the word 'family' means getting married first.
I am glad there is still hope for me. Of course the guy is still missing but anyway!

In trying to understand the significance of the 6th position I play around with the idea that line 6 describes what happens when one continues to act in the spirit of the hexagram when perhaps the energy has already reached its peak and it is time to move on. For example line 1.6, if one continues to be 1.Creative after the time for creativity is past (as in continuing to talk when it's time to move on to hex 2 and be Receptive, to listen), then one is behaving as an Arrogant Dragon, so line 1.6 is negative. With 37.6 you might say one is continuing to be a caring parent even after the kids are grown. This sort of dedication is what makes a fine family so the parent's work commands respect, so line 37.6 is positive.
As a response to your question, "Will I make my own family?" I believe it is directing you to consider how you may have already created a family - perhaps you have friends with children that you are close to? - and you are being encouraged to think of these people as your family.
Or perhaps you are to be alert to a possible partnership with someone who already has children from a previous partnership. Hopefully 37.6 means they are very respectful kids!

I'm reading this old thread now, and looking at your answer, it's quite interesting! I've asked Yi of the possibility of meeting a good loving partner, since my last relationship was quite disappointing, and the fact that I have a child and he doesn't, was kinda one of the main issues. So... Maybe I should partner with a single dad, being myself a single mom? LOL
