I have a friend who has become quite distant with me recently without any obvious reason that I can see. Everything was fine but lately it seems all I get is excuses or I get ignored. I asked how I can connect with this person emotionally and got 37.2.5 to 26.
I suppose my first question should've been "why is this person acting this way towards me". I guess I'm going about this backwards. That will be my next question, treating the symptom instead of the cause.

In the meantime, any thoughts on this reading?

Yeah, I'd say you're asking the questions in the right order, and that this person is worth getting close to. That's how to connect to them. Get 'inside' with them. It's fortunate. Do that, and you'll find out what great restraint means, too.

it seems the response might have answered both questions of yours.
the person has been distant and distracted due to domestic issues, stying home cooking, spending time with a husband? 26 is building up the energy to be able to get out and reconnect with friends.
I had a very similar situation recently..one of my best friends kind of ignored me thru the holidays, very unusual...turns out, she was very busy with her sick mom and family issues, and kept her distance from me whichc i suspect was for other reasons too...a kind of disagreement we;d had and i guess she didnt want to address it while dealing with intense famly issues.

but if the reading is advising how to get close, i might call her and inquire about her famliy, ask her if you can be any help in any way. she might be feeling restrained and unable to get free time

This friend is an old flatmate and he is single so his domestic issues might be with his current flatmates, but more likely a former flatmate, meaning me.
A thought I had about the reading was that we were close because we were living together and that was the basis of the connection. I have had thoughts of moving back to that city and he has said that I could move in with him again if I needed a place to stay so I guess its saying that we would reconnect that way, but I get the impression from this reading and the fact that he gets in touch with me after months of silence and then goes back to being distant and dismissive that our friendship is based on his moods and initiatives, that I will have to be the "submissive wife" to his "king" and I'm not sure if that's worth it, although the king does seem to deserve his role and the resulting hexagram is favourable.
I guess I'm feeling a little hurt that once I moved out it seems like he kinda developed an "out of sight, out of mind" attitude towards me and apparently I'm just supposed to take what he dishes out (or doesn't) to maintain the friendship. It seems like a lot of work and effort for something that doesn't feel very friendly or considerate of my feelings. Maybe I should just stop trying and go with another option if I decide to move back.
Is this a fair assessment of this reading or am I going over the edge with this?

Well that makes sense considering the next readings I did.
I asked "what are his intentions with me?" 51 unchanging
What is or will be the manifestation of this 51? 25 1.4.6 to 8
At first I figured that hex 8 means he is with someone (union) but maybe the important part about that hex is the part about coming too late. I'm not too sure.
The moving lines of hex 25 seem to contradict each other but these don't seem like positive readings.
Anyway, its frustrating that he thinks we can't be friends because he's with someone and even more frustrating that he couldn't just tell me that. :S
Anything I should be aware of in these readings? I do find them confusing and can't get much use out of them on my own.
