39.1.3.6 to 42 Unsure how to proceed, any advice/help please.

Hi all,


I was wondering ifanyone has any advice for me please. I've been working on ananimation series over the last couple of years, along with a musicalbum and writing two books. Everything is nearing completion and Iam now also in a good finacial position to bring it to a close.


Yesterday I wasinformed that my main job was coming to a end in the next 2 and a halfweeks, and I was thinking now would be a very good time toconcentrate on these projects with a view to finishing them andfinally after many years of work - releasing them.


However afterconsulting the iching this afternoon regarding these three projects Iam somewhat confused how to proceed, as I have received the followinghexagram with these changing lines.


Hexagram 39(Obstruction)
Line 1
Line 3
Line 6


Changing to hexagram 42(Increase)


And after asking forfurther clarification on this answer I received hexagram 49 nochanging lines.


I'm not entirely surehow well the animation, music or books will do, but I feel if I don'ttry I will never know. However I would very much like to find out asfeel desparate for a change and a new beginning in regards to work.

When I asked the Iching for advice it was along the lines of - is now a good time to get moving, putting things into action and finish these three projects I'm working on?

Hi Chris10, I think the answer is confusing because it is a yes/no question and I can never tell. However there is something about getting together with others, not acting alone and building channels with the shape of the projects (not damms to keep them in place). When there are more than 2 changing lines I start with the highest one (it is the one that is seen out there, in the world). In this case is the 6th which recommends you not to try to carry on on your own, and also to help others in their ways. Maybe a very general answer could be: You will have to limp and join, and help get help in order to grow. Just a guess. I would pick a more specific question, one of the kind What happens if I do this? it will also give you a picture of the situation, but the answer will be clearer to read.

Hi all,

Just to update this post, the information provided by Carmina was spot on.

I ended up working in a team with others to bring the animation project to completion. Although it took a lot longer than expected and have only finished it recently, but have also been helping others as I go. I now assist and also help a charity in my spare time as a volunteer doing the very same work for them.

Only thing is I had planned to release the animation this month, but upon asking the IChing if it's a good time to release I received...

Changing to Hexagram 12

Which I assume in line 1 is advising me to wait a bit longer?

While Hexagram 12 would be the outcome of following the IChings advice of waiting. As nothing would be moving forward (no release) and therefore stagnating?

Appreciate any insight anyone might have.
