39 unchanging :(

I also asked a question regarding whether it's possible for me to get a U.S. work visa. (I have a relationship with someone there).

I got 39 unchanging. Does the fact that it’s unchanging mean a categorical NO??? Or could that change?

39 for me is you have some obstacles to overcome. Being that it's unchanging, I would say the obstacles may prove to be more than what you have in mind. Or more work than you would be willing to do in order to overcome. Sometimes with 39 there is another direction you can go in. Kind of like going around the obstacles but still reaching the same ultimate goal.

In its unchanging form, hex 39 means that you only think that there's an obstacle, but it's mainly in your own imagination or coming from your own thinking.

See... What you say Ginnie could very well be true. It could be in her imagination. But I also find many readings could reflect what's in the mind. And the unfortunate part is (for me at least), if something is in my mind, then I cast a reading on it that confirms what's in my mind, if I fail to recognize this, it more
often than not manifests into reality.

My question is, can we generalize any one reading to
mean any one thing for certain and for all? As an example... many times over the years I would receive
19 unchanging. For a long while it was certain to
mean someone was approaching I had been hoping to
hear from and we would have a great time together, if
only for a short time. (As it doesn't always last long
with 19). Now the meaning of 19 has changed a few
times and taken on a few different meanings. So it
seems as though, as soon as I feel I have a clear
understanding of something it can change. Its almost as if to show yet another angle.

I am not sure if anyone else experiences these things or if it's even right to share or ask here. I mean it may help others... Either way it does keep it interesting and causes me to do these readings with a light heart and
yet a lot of respect.

Thank you Ginnie - I hope you're right.

It's funny you give the example of 19 Blue Angel - I have had different experiences with it too and always thought it meant that I'd have a short lived relationship with a person. You're totally right about "angles" actually I think part of our learning experience in this life is to get out of thinking in a linear way :)

Absolutely! I don't think the hexagrams have one meaning 'for certain and for all.' Far from it. The I Ching is never saying just one thing. I think that's what makes interpretation such a subtle art. In writing interpretations for others, I can use words that seem to say "this is what it means," but that is just a shortcut of language. I'm just trying to get right to the point, the aspect that spoke to me the loudest ... so as not to be verbose. :)
