Will I be a reasonably successful actress if I commit to it properly?

40.4 to 7 is the answer.

I realise that I've been posting a lot on here recently… well I hope it's not annoying anyone, just trying to learn more about this amazing tool and get out of my own narrow minded thinking.

So this hexagram speaks of release - I'm confused as to how 7 relates to it… could it be about building a team?

I suppose line 3 is saying it won't be easy to obtain it, but you have the resources. Three usually means change, 3 years - whole cycle of change.

Thank you for your detailed answer. Like all your interpretations - I really like your positive vibe and really thoughtful intelligent way of putting things.

I have always been confused about what 7 means - but that makes so much more sense to me now. It has come up before in readings - and now I get it!!

mmh I would not let some coins decide about what I want or not want to do.

I ching usually gives a photograph of the situation, and it's called the book of change because it changes.
Plus it's difficult to interpret so there are always possibilities of misunderstanding.
I'm saying this because I'm an actress myself and the best thing in life is having NO REGRETS!
So if you feel you want to act, just act!

But if you need the assurance that you'll be successful then that means you want to be an actress just to get the good part of it (success) and that's probably not the best driving force you can have.

It's the same for a cook (a chef). Does he want to be a cook because he loves to cook or does he want to be a cook only if he's sure he's going to work in the best 5 star restaurant of the world?

Plus I've found this on 40.4

which would mean "stop thinking about it and on how successful you may or may not become. If you stop thinking about it then the situation will have the opportunity to develop itself"

Well - I've made some progress! I realised my lack commitment was holding me back. I had stopped training, I stopped acting and got caught up in other things. I had such a lucky start, and became lazy - expecting things to be handed to me on a plate. Since then I grew up a bit.

By the way, my definition of success (minus the fame and glamour) is the ability to be part of projects you really can put your heart in and it's nice if you can earn a living from that.

I'll keep everyone updated - on my reading!!
