40 & 59 - how similar, how different?

Hi,

After asking Yi to point out the major influences in my life over the next 48h, I received unchanged hexagram 59. As the last week has been rather tensed, I thought dispersing the tension regarding this particular relationship issue would be good.

Then I realised I seem to be confusing hexagrams 40 and 59. As I feel pretty confused anyway right now, I thought I'd better ask the I Ching community to help me out by pointing out any major differences - and similarities - between these 2 hexagrams.

As I understand them, 40 is like graduating from school. 59 is like completing a life cycle. Since you are asking about tension in a relationship, perhaps the tension has run its course.
