These past few years I've had some bad luck when it comes to girls, especially last year. I was basically giving too much of myself to the other person at the cost of my own health, and in the end she didn't give a damn about it. So now I know to be a bit more reserved and think about my own well being also.

Anyway, I asked what the prospects were for getting a gf this year.

I think this is basically saying what I just said. That I will meet someone, but that I just have to mindful of balancing my own needs.

Then I asked where I would meet this girl, in what type of setting?

That's a puzzler. Well, the best place to meet someone is "outside," I guess. In other words, be sure to get out and about; circulate. But your first answer, 41.1, was asking you to do an assessment of your time and energy, taking into consideration your extremely giving nature. I think hexagram 41 is about how we can give of ourselves without depleting ourselves too much. Until that tendency is restrained better, you would do well not to sacrifice your health (for example) just in order to have a girlfriend.

Since the resulting hexagram is a familiar name, looks good. Line 1 seems to suggests moderating haste.

Where would I meet this girl, in what type of setting?
42.2 > 61

Wind and Thunder: a music setting.
But also, wind in the face and thundering hooves. Many women love horses.
