41>31 All changing lines

Hi folks,

I have had a couple of hexagram casts recently with all changing lines and have understood through reading that there are a number of methods for interpreting these casts.

I asked, "What am I supposed to be doing in terms of finding a relationship?"
And I received 41.1.2.3.4.5.6>31.

As you are all aware the lines in 41 are all about saving oneself from or preventing decrease by either helping other people or making sure others aren't put out by what you do (lines 1 &2) , then reducing connections with extraneous contacts (line 3), or decreasing your faults thereby increasing others' contact with you (line 4), or you are, in fact, increasing (line 5). And then the top line which is about increasing yourself by avoiding decrease - which in effect I interpret to mean you have been able to "duck & roll" quite well.

All this changing to or compounded by 41's completed changed hexagram 31, telepathy, influence or wooing. From what I gather the relating hexagram indicates factors that are working for or against the subject of the reading, much like the crossing card in a tarot reading. Please correct me if that is wrong. So what we have here is a situation where it looks like things are decreasing, however they are not and there is still quite bit of wooing going on...

What do others think of this reading?
And another question for you all - there are several different methods of interpreting castings with all changing lines from what I have understood from what I have found on the forum and Google. What method do you recommend and why?

When all lines change that shows that the original hexagram is thoroughly completed by now. Now is the time of the resulting hexagram. A bit like being on the cusp of two astrological signs. The reason I interpret it thus is because I take it that the more lines change, the more the original hex is 'demolished'.

The time of bad luck, and of having to make-do with crumbs, is just over.
Now is the time to start to sit pretty, be alluring, endure others, and wait for someone to woo you.

Some people find that the relating hexagram describes the circumstances surrounding the question. Another way of looking at it is to see it as the outcome of the first hexagram. You can also get useful information using the two hexagrams together to form a sentence like, "You will find (31.) Romance when you (41.) Decrease looking for it.

Thanks Rosada. Before doing lots of reading on this forum, that was how I interpreted the hexagram - ie the base hex is the situation now and the changed one is the outcome - as you suggested.

When you simplify it, it makes so much more sense! =)

Just making plenty of space for it. You have it seems, possibly done a lot of clearing out, within and without (41) so there is space now. In 31 a space is made to receive others and to make that space you had to let things go at one point or another (41). Check your space, your 'storage capacity' since the answer might also be giving advice for you to see how much emotional 'disc space' you have left. Relationships, especially new ones use huge amounts of emotional disc space (metaphorically) hence if all your emotions are taken up with worry about your job or your friendships or worries about family relationships and such, well you may not have the 'room' and somehow you may signal unknowingly to potential partners that you do not have the room.

I like this answer. It's as if it's asking you to open out, to receive (31) by reducing emotional and mental clutter. The Image says from Wilhelm

Thanks for this insight, Trogina. I had always seen 31 with it's small opening at the top line as meaning a person is slightly open to influence - like maybe a willingness to listen - and I thought of "readiness to receive" as meaning being washed and dressed for when company comes but I hadn't put all that together with the more welcoming feeling of really making a space within oneself for another point of view.
