41 and a divorce

A friend's husband just filed for divorce and she wants to know, "How does he feel about divorcing me?"

41.2.6 to 24

24 seems to be about the turning point aspect of this.
the lines in 41 are confusing though. i think line 2 indicates that he isn't going to sacrifice his happiness in order to stay married to her and keep her happy. i don't know about line 6 though. this is one of the most difficult hexagrams for me. truthfully, i do not know how to interpret this. is he comfortable with divorcing her or is it something he doesn't really want to do?

There is some ambiguity in 41, which does make it a bit difficult to sift thorough. Are there children? This may reflect his concern for all. But It seems to me he wants to divorce. Less is more. And the 6th line indicates that he would prefer freedom to the home, and perhaps there is some relief in returning to his own, going it alone.

You know, it may be that he feels that going on his own is the best way to give to her and benefit her , now that I think of it.

41.2 Makes me wonder if he felt unappreciated at home?

41.6 Sounds like he feels he has things to do that just weren't possible within the marrage.

24. Could indicate Returning to his life as it was before the marrage, but I also wonder if once he and his wife are no longer joined at the hip if there will be a potential for friendship?

These hexagrams seem to indicate a feeling that the marrage just wasn't "him", perhaps he felt he just couldn't do anything right.

Sometimes to understand a hexagram I'll play the devil's advocate and ask, what if the truth is just the opposite? What if this man is really feeling he'd like to Return home to his wife and Decrease - stop - the divorce prodeedings, how do the hexagrams support that idea? If that seems remotely possible, I do think hex 24 supports the idea that after being away from home for awhile, simplifying his life and getting his head clear, there maybe a reconsideration. Mercury turned retrograde yesterday. Often when Mercury is retrograde folks find they want to reconsider their decisions.

I think hollis' thought that 41.6 may indicate the man feels he is doing the best thing for all concerned sounds plausible.

I read the translation/interpretation at Eclectic Energies. It sounds as if he feels that it's the best thing to do and that everyone will benefit in the end because of it. I think that if we look at the overall meaning of the hexagram, that less is more, it seems clear now that yes, he thinks divorcing her is a good thing, perhaps even a benefit to her. Once again, I think 24 indicates that this is a turning point. Interestingly enough, 24 is the nuclear hex of 41.

Hex 41.2 says that he feels sadden and thinks that it is a mistake to divorce.

Hex 41.6 he feels that he is doing it for the good of all concerned, he is doing his best not to be selfish here.

Hex 24 he feels the divorce is a major turning point in his life where he will be relatively free to follow his own pursuits but may secretly hope for some kind of reconciliation.

I think that he is very upset and anguished by the whole thing, he wishes that it had never come to this.

Maybe line 2 refers to the fact that he doesn't want to hurt her or wishes that he didn't have to hurt her? She's VERY torn up over this.
