I talk to the Yi a lot about my son. We lost his father to a bone marrow cancer, so it is good, not to say necessary, to have someone to talk about important decisions. My 6 year old son will be changing teacher next year. I know who his teacher will be. She is very rigorous, strict, sends TONS of homework. This homework issue interferes with everyday life. I see home time as time to grow, learn and develop home stuff, which is IMO also an equally important part of life. I want my son available to play, go for a walk in the park, and start to become aware of stuff that needs to get done at home in order to have things organised. I don’t want my son to grow up to be a brilliant mathematician who has no clue how his clothes show up clean and ironed in his closet. But you know life, sometimes things that don’t seem the best option, sometimes turn out to be great. So I asked the I ching How things will turn out for my son with next year’s new teacher? I got 42.1.3 > 53. Then I asked the Iching How will things turn out for my son if he changes to the public school near home? which has a very good reputation, and there are the pro s that it is closer to home plus it is free. I got 15.1.3 > 24. Both answers seem quite positive. I saw in this forum somewhere, in a different context, of course, that 24 means the best possible path in this situation. Would you agree that that is what the Yi advises? Many thanks :)

I'm very sorry about your son's father.

These are both unusually auspicious readings. Subtle differences between them, but both about personal development, luck, and being on a path.

Personally I'd probably go with the public school, mainly based on your description of the situation. However in my experience 15 is a gentler and more supportive hexagram than 42, as is 24 vs. 53. I'd pick a 15 experience over a 42 one, is what I'm saying.

Can you also update this thread about the bullying and your son's current (problematic) teacher? Is the new school you're considering for next year this same other one you discuss?https://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/fri...e-like-if-he-went-to-a-different-school/page2

I had in the back of my mind as I read through this current post of yours.

I had similar thoughts. Hex 15 is smoother than hex 42, which indicates luck and great chances for the new beginning with this teacher in line 1, but points to a possibly somehow rougher ride in line 3, which still shouldn't do harm eventually. Also relating hex 53 is auspicious in this context.

Those are both nice results. Hopefully you find a solution soon, since the decision really seems to keep you busy for a while now. Fingers crossed!

Thank-you for your reply. His current teacher is really nice. The next year teacher is also nice, just the homework load, can be too much. I have just updated the thread you mention. Thank-you for asking. :)

I would like to give you some feedback on how things turned out with this reading.
So in school year 2018/2019 he continued at the same school. He had great grades but it was tons of schoolwork and homework, not much learning besides curricula, not much fun either. It wasn't perhaps the best option for his overall development to have stayed at the same school. So for year 2019/2020 I decided to enrol him in another school. He is sprouting since. Learns a lot of new things, tons of different experiences, activities, not so much unnecessary homework, just every now and then, and he is very, VERY happy, even though it were difficult times March to June's Covid confinement. It's amazing how much he grows. No more bullying issues, kids really enjoy having him around, and the grades continue to be great.
