Hi all,
For the past 6 years I have been living in an utterly terrible apartment in an utterly terrible building in an isolated, dreary and bleary (and on the peripheries dangerous and drug filled) neighborhood... mice ( If I leave a pan on the range , it's peppered with mouse feces within 5 hours or so) , roaches, a serious mold problem, and it is definitely haunted as well (long story on that, but not haunted by anything nice or neutral, trust me... if anyone reading this is interested to know the specifics I will gladly share more info).
I've been stuck here for a while for various reasons, after moving into the apartment as the only way of being able to move back to my home city after 13 years in an exile of sorts. Unpleasantness all around basically.

Anyways, due to various circumstances and a some help and good luck, I have the opportunity to move right when my lease would be up. My budget has increased a bit, and I have had my eyes set on a neighborhood that is thriving, buzzing, cultural (though at some points a bit touristy... though that doesn't bother me as it's touristy because there are things to see and do there). I've seen a bunch of utterly horrible apartments in my current price range (just as bad as where I live now, only more expensive) and two nice ones... they aren't perfect by any means in terms of space, but the streets are nice, the apartments are in good shape albeit a bit small (my current place is large, but due to the floor plan, most of the space is useless.)

I asked the iching about one of them... I forgot what the answer was but it was either bad or at best neutral.
I asked about the other of the two. It's a sort of rear one bedroom on the first floor but with only one window , and a small outside space, that needs to be cleaned up a bit... but the building is well maintained, the interior lighting is great, it's in good shape (no sign of mold or mice etc).

My question was general, about me moving there (not a done deal as there would be some hoops I have to jump through beforehand involving applications, funds etc etc etc etc),

The answer I got was
42.2 > 61 which looks very promising.

My life has been a pile of crap for a while... bad luck, obstruction, isolation, failed and obstructed love affairs, career (if you can even call it that) going nowhere...family trouble... very demoralizing and maddening... and in addition to the benefits of not breathing in toxic mold everytime I shower and not having to ride a train 1.5 hours to get anywhere, I am hoping that such a move would lead to an upliftment in other areas of my life, as it would seem the 'vibe'/energy whatever you want to call it, of the place I currently live has contributed to the morass of misery of the other areas of my life.

Hexagram 42 Increase The Symbol of Addition, Gain, Augmenting, Help from Above, Benefit, Advantage, Profit, Expansion
- Ok, this sounds excellent

Liu:Increase. It is of benefit to set forth. It is of benefit to cross the great water.
- Ok, sounds great, while it isn't across a literal body of water, in terms of neighborhood, condition of the apartment, FEEL of the apartment, it is a metaphorical crossing of a great body of water.

The image... Liu: Wind and thunder symbolize Increase. When the superior man discovers good, he follows it. When he has errors, he corrects them.
- Ok, in a sense I have discovered something good, and am following it, in that I'm going to go for it.

Commentary... Confucius/Legge: Increase shows the upper trigram brilliantly decreased to augment the lower. What descends from above reaches to all below, and the satisfaction of the people is without limit. Advantage in movement is shown in the blessings dispensed by the second and fifth lines from their correct positions. The action of Wood shows that it is advantageous to cross the great stream. Through the trigrams of Movement and Humility there is unlimited daily advancement -- heaven dispenses and earth produces, and all proceeds according to the requirements of the time.

- All sounds good

Line 2:
Liu: Someone enriches him with twenty tortoises. He cannot refuse. Perpetual continuance brings good fortune. The king makes a presentation to God. Good fortune.

- Hot damn! or rather... Cool blessings... this sounds excellent.

Changing to Hexagram 61 Inner truth The Symbol of Central Sincerity, Inward Confidence, Inner Truthfulness, Sincerity, Centering- Conforming, Central Return, Faithfulness in the Center, Sincerity in the Center, Insight, Understanding, The Psyche, "Take the middle road and avoid extremes." -- D.F. Hook

Liu:Inner Truthfulness. Sea Lions -- good fortune. It is of benefit to cross the great water.

Ok, I've never really understood Hexagram 61, but as a relating or contextual hexagram it seems good to me... and I notice the mention of it being good to cross the great water.

This looks pretty good in terms of moving into that apartment, about the apartment itself etc... and maybe, based on the line and hexagrams a general improvement in my life, coming as a blessing of sorts... whether the apartment would be a blessing or living there would lead to blessings, or both. Of course, time will tell, and I have to be able to move there first.

Any thoughts? As always, thanks!

Hi leonine ! , one of the best lines to get , good omen ! , good move ! . Maybe ' dolphin ' , a pig fish , better than sea lion . More new age type creature , swimming around , maybe jumping through hoops ! . And with the tortoises , or maybe terrapins ! , go for it ! .

Everything ultimately worked out. I faced a ridiculous number of obstacles, but each time I recieved help from above ( luck so arguably help from a divine source of sorts, as well as from an uncle so in terms of familial relations help from above on the family tree) that was able to meet and overcome (even if by only a little) the obstacles I faced. There are some negative situations that have arisen as a result of my move and the help required to make it... BUT they are nothing next to the negative conditions I experienced in my old apartment. I love this apartment and this neighborhood. A perfect all around situation? No. 10 times better, even with new problems, than what I experienced before? Hell/heavens yes. Are there new issues that need addressing for my overall life situation to both remain at this level of goof fortune and to increase in terms of good fortune? Yes. But I am up to the challenge... and while I am in a transitional state now, I am no longer stuck in the way I was before. Sink or swim is a condition that presents options and choices, whereas being stuck is a static state. Essentially... while my life is not perfect now, it has vastly improved, and I have certainly been blessed (about FN time!!!).

Hooray! Now some unsolicited advice: to avoid recreating the old, don't make any mention ever again of the past unless it's to say something like, "Everything led to here so it's all good!"
Thanks for the update. :)

Rosada, are you saying that because mentioning the past sort of recreates it?!
