Hello everybody.
I need help interpreting this please.
4 days ago I was sent on Facebook a post about a cat shelter that is in a desperate situation. It is supposedly located in a poor area of my city (a huge one and very tough). They indicate having trouble to pay the rent and to feed 83 cats they have there.
There is something suspicious in the post and fan page that has only 3 months. They claim to be working with cats for the last 10 years. A friend of mine who also has a shelter for cats and dogs says noone in the rescuer community knows them.
I cannot afford giving a massive donation because I am strugling with money since pandemics. I am privileged in my city though and not having money in my case is different fromtje case of many other.

I am in a dilemma. The shelters I know are not as desperated as this seems to be si I'd rather help them but something inside me makes me distrust. There are people inventing stories for asking money very often.

They say they don't share their address for security reasons and the kitten for adoption pictures are not being yet shared because the person that was editing them failed. That sounds weird unless they don't have a smartphone which might be very rare since their posts seem to be made from one. I don't want to distrust but there is something I cant tell about this all.

So I asked,

What should I know about this shelter (name)? And I got 43.3.4 into 60. They seem to be in a critical situation, but who needs measurement? Is this about their limited resources? I didnt ask a yes, no like should I trust them because I know it is not a good way of asking.

Thank you for any insights and maybe suggestions for asking better.

:)

Apparently, Yi wants you to know that:
3-you are presuming the worst,
nothing is wrong.
4- You've been burned in the past,
& are weary and wary because of it.

So, it seems this is *not* really a warning away from the place.
They may just be unliscensed and trying to hide income/tax revenue.
Not necessarily trying to scam you.

Try next asking something like,
"Good idea to go/meet them?"

I am so sorry for not having answered. I just noticed it... :( You were right. They also didn't want more kitten being left at their place.
