43 Kuai with lines 2 & 5. "Should I?" turned into, "I was asked to work instead".

I think it's interesting and I thought I'd share.

A co-worker (Maria) invited me to go on a party cruise this weekend with her husband and a bunch of their friends. She suddenly wants to be better friends with me after hearing that her rival co-worker (Evelynn) and I are planning to travel together (specifically, Evelynn and I are taking a travel cruise, wow what a coincidence, huh!) There is a lot of passive-aggressive tension between Maria and Evelynn. Those 2 women have worked together for several years, and I have worked there less than 1 year.

Evelynn has gossiped to me about Maria's sexually inappropriate husband, which made me a little nervous about going on a party cruise with them. But I thought it sounded fun and I wanted to go anyway! Besides, I don't have very many friends because I am new to this area.

I know that my two co-workers secretly despise each other, and I suspect Maria might have an agenda to get in the way of my friendship with Evelyn.

Today I asked "should I go on the party cruise this weekend with Maria and her friends?"

Sounds okay, right? I took it as a weak yes.

Just a few hours later I was asked to work this weekend! So that settles it, no party cruise with Maria and her pals. I'm so relieved!

Hmmm, I wouldn't have gone had it been my reading. Seems to show a need for caution. To decide where the weak or inferior elements are hidden. Advises to hold to your own inner strength and use that strength to get rid of what's inferior or not good for you. Luckily you didn't even have to make the decision this time. It was made for you. But look at how relieved you are to not go or to not have had to make that decision. Is it that you felt you had to go?

Í definitely picked up on the be cautious part, but I interpreted it as proceed with caution, because I kind of already knew that I need to watch out, and I already knew that it's kind of a weird vibe. I'm an adult and I can handle myself.

Maybe...yeah, ...maybe I felt like I needed to go on this party cruise. I don't want to offend Maria.

I'm relieved that I was asked to work this weekend for 2 reasons: 1. I need the money 2. I have a legitimate excuse to not go!
