Hello!

I'm wondering: what kind of relationship might be one described by hex. 44.5.6 becoming 32?
that's the answer i cast about my relationship with a new boyfriend to whom i am indeed very much physically attracted
hex. 32 seems to be quite the opposite of 44; an attraction prone to become easier to be lived and so ...a lasting one?


what are your more insightful interpretations?

H32 and H44

H32 is where you are now, looking for something Enduring. H44 is a strong and temporary encounter with a powerful force. The suggestion of H44 is always that it is not permanent, and you should not try to make it so.

The moving lines make an interesting pair. Line 5 suggests that beneficial opportunities will fall upon you, like a ripe fruit from a tree. But Line 6 indicates a decisive break that needs to be done carefully ("Slip out the back, Jack").

So perhaps these are stages in the relationship. But H44 and Line 6 both indicate it is temporary, although as pleasant as a ripe piece of fruit while it is there.

Another use for "enduring" is to recognize that this will endure as a temporary situation.

LiSe translates 44.6 as

Above 9: The heir's horn. Distress. Without fault.
Growing up – or becoming mature - is not only about getting bigger and wiser. It also means to take risks, to do silly or stupid things, to fall and get up again, to feel how it is to get bruised. A fearful or timid child will not become a good king, he will have too little experience. So if the king keeps his heir too safe, he is not acting in his own or his son’s interest.

So sometimes you've got to take a risk and learn from the experience even if it means it won't be a long lasting one.

Another way you could look at this is just through the two hexes: an temporarily attractive encounter that endures. Sound paradoxical, but maybe this makes more sense: you will continue to be completely attracted to him, even if it isn't meant to last.

If you had gotten only line 5 moving in H44, I'd say you might have a chance of making something long-lasting of it.

But as it is, the 32 represents your wish, what you're hoping for.

But it's not likely to happen, because line 6 moving in H44 indicates someone who is stubborn, proud, or hard, like horns. It is very hard to get along with someone with these personal characteristics.

This suggests that this relationship is brittle and therefore can easily be broken but if you are both prepared to be light footed around each other and treat each other with care and attention then the potential for longevity is there. Also, the physical aspect is very apparent as well, and good relationships do not last long on sex alone. Perhaps you find him rather reclusive and independent, more into himself than anyone else, but time will tell.

i'm not very happy these days about my relationship, if there was to be stages, they were very quick to move toward the bad ones (line 6 of hex. 44?)
i realise maybe it's a very breakable relation , i think enough about the idea to break up though there was no quarrel between us yet
why?
it's not about any permanence point here, i doubt this could be my wish, but i'm upset because each of us spend a lot of time on his own and he seems embarrased about just meet and have sex and he seems upset too and disappointed(kind of he wants something more too)

so now i address another question for being guided by the i Ching:What should i do about him? (what is better?)
i've gotten: 42.1.3.6-39

not at all an easy answer to understand because i don't think it's saying 'stay for a while and enjoy'

what would be your views about this?

You need to speak to a real person

You have the energy to take on a big project. To overcome the trouble you're in, be decisive, and you may benefit.

42.6: This is a warning. You know you tend to go to extremes and you are highly ambitious. Do not keep your mind only on what will profit yourself. If you only do what benefits you personally, there is great harm in that. When desire is extreme, it clouds the mind, so that one forgets what is right and reasonable.

Hexagram 39 says you are faced with trouble and you need to talk with someone older and wiser. Don't stay stuck in danger. Move along, seek intelligent help so that you don't go in the wrong direction.

People can read for themselves under hexagram 39 that it says to go see the great person, and it is very important not to ignore that. The I Ching by itself cannot say everything that needs to be said. You need to speak to a real person.

What should i do about him? 42.1.3.6-39

The thing is, if you want more than just a casual fling and if he wants more as well, then you need to get together properly as this is about the two of you, not just two individuals.
So, you need to stand up for what you believe in, what you think is the right thing to do under the circumstances.
Line 42.6 says that you are both failing to benefit each other is a more open and productive way, you and him are acting indifferently towards each other. As I said before sex alone does not make for a lasting relationship. So, if you both want something deeper, time to come out and talk.

Hex 39 is an obstruction that is preventing something more rewarding, so, again if you want something special then you both need to find a solution, as it requires cooperation.

your insights are very useful as usual, i recognize me a lot...but still i'm not able to take a definite position
it's not only sex, at least for me, or maybe it's such a warm and charming encounter that makes me realize i can fall in love starting from a sexual level ( nothing like that experienced before)
i think i want from him more openness...i don't know

sometimes hex. 39 reveals to me as a counsel to seek another approach ( the question is unfortunetely formulated or the issue i'm concerned lies elsewhere )...
