So I was laid off my job recently, and in response to my question "what should my attitude be towards my options be?" I received hex 44 unchanging. My options, though I'm open to almost anything, center around freelance work or going back to school for work that's more reliable. I was confused on my answer so I asked how I'm involved with the #1, broken line and received 24 changing to 35.
That helped me a lot but I'm interested in what you all think. Thanks.

"what should my attitude be towards my options be?" I received hex 44

This suggests that you resist the temptations that your options seem to offer as they will not get you anywhere, avoid them.

I was confused on my answer so I asked how I'm involved with the #1, broken line ? Perhaps I'm stupid today but what exactly do you mean and what broken line are you talking about in Hex 44?

Hi LR,

44 shows a dangerous situation. There is a small crack in the foundation. If it isn't addressed promptly, everything could be undermined. Fast action is mandatory. I think the Yi is telling you to get back to work ASAP. Once you have regained the stability of a job, then look around for your next step.

24 is a turning point. People come and go. It's fine to explore. Some opportunities might be temporarily closed, so stick with what is available to you close to home.

Call people you know and ask if they have heard of openings where they work. Do whatever is most efficient to spread the word that you are available. Take what comes up. You might only be there for a short time before "the mountain passes are opened." That's not a problem.

35 is progress like the sunrise brightens the earth. If you act now to make this situation a turning point, you will be able to use the great new opportunity once the right time arrives.

I would follow up on hex 24. Something like "What is my best action plan to get a good new job ASAP?"

Hi Line rider
To me, hex 44 it is not necessarily a warning about a danger. 44 is also about creativity, about a meeting with something/one which give birth to a new thing.
Maybe says, it’s a time to meet your self and find were is your creativity. And 24 to 35 , although I’m not sure about your question, is about returning to yourself and discover your 35 gifts.
Just a thought…

While I agree with Maria's comments about creative potentials, when considering your follow up question and answer, it seems that your best bet is to calm any desperate instincts you may be feeling at this time. Your question about line 1 of 44 was, I thought, insightful. Your progress in dealing with the raging pig depends upon your ability to withdraw or return your energies until your composure and clarity are restored. Then you can present your talents and charms to prospective employers with poise and composure, rather than appear to be slutting yourself out, out of a sense of desperation.

Thanks Meng .
This reading brought in my mind a story of mine with many similarities with Line rider’s situation and your post is what I avoid to explain in my post . Seems that the Yi is talking to us not just when we ask it. This is not the first time that thinking about somebody else’s reading something change or becomes visible about myself.

I forced a dragon to act and I quit a job without first having another one. First relieved, I was very unhappy in my old job and then desperate because I couldn’t find a good one. And that despair diminished any energy I had inside me and what worse, I couldn’t “sell” my self to potential employers. Then a friend needed some help for a project came up suddenly. It was just for a month and as he said it was a job much lower for my skill and experienced but he was desperate too so we help each other. I needed the money he needed an employee. That period felt like returning in myself, relaxing and gaining back my strength. Without going into details, due to some reasons unexpectedly good, the one-month agreement became for three. Just a few days before the end of the third month a very destroying earthquake happened. The partner in charge to handle that urgent situation was away in a place where communication was very difficult almost impossible. Although his department was totally separate in many ways from the one I was working for (different business in a way) initiative I took the responsibility to coordinate a job I had never done before and stay in the office for three days with 4 hours sleep/per night. It was a crazy thing to do, all of it. The story end like that. The partner was impressed from my job and offered me a place immediately. My time in that job, a very seductive one, was the most creative time in my life till now.

Seems that the dragon, was waiting for the earthquake, to come out.

Maria, it really does sound as though you could have drawn this reading to describe your experience. Interesting. Thanks for sharing your story.

I'm going to share my interpretation and hopefully reply to everyone's wonderful comments in the process.

I didn't really see 44 as danger; the dangerous situation happened and I'm in the midst of dealing with it already. My question was what my attitude should be, not the state of the situation so I think I need to allow the dark yin energy to dissipate what I've been building up for the past year or so and start something new.

The LiSe site about 44 helped me understand 44 in a positive sense of a queen producing an heir. That is, I need to submit to the yin and plant a seed for something new.

I'm not sure if I should take the standard meaning of 24, Return, or interpret it the 2 trigrams visually since my question was in regard to the structure of the other hexagram, 44. Since 24 is thunder within the earth, I think it shows that the yin line under 5 yang lines in 44 is offering me a surging rebirth.

I don't want to interpret the individual changing lines of 24 because they emphasize making a mistake and having to retreat. Maybe I did make mistakes in my career but I've already suffered the consequences and the important thing is to start fresh and fill the 5 receptive lines in front of me in 24.

If there are any other astrologers out there, the astrological aspects going on now and the next year suggest that I'm in for something new; it's almost like these hexagrams are a picture of the transits I'm in for. Uranus has stationed on my natal sun twice, and I've got one stop next year before its finally over. Except that Uranus and Saturn oppose each other on my natal sun, then my ascendant/descendant axis. I find that a positive attitude and willingness to change makes transits at worst... interesting and at best fun.

Well it was cathartic writing all that, I hope you can follow my rambling thoughts :) thanks again.
