44 to 2

I have an unpleasant situation I want to resolve and put behind me. I've done research and made some attempts on my own which have received no response. There are basically three other approaches. I asked the I Ching the merits of each.

To my first choice, the answer was 44 changing to 2 - all but the first line changing. I'm totally stumped. Does anyone have any experience with this odd answer?

To my second choice, the answer was 14.1. Got that. Never mind. Moving on.

To my third choice (that I'd rather avoid if possible), the answer was 33.4. Looks like my only way out.

44 > 2 suggests a person who is in control becoming supportive. A kindness on your part could ease the way.

44>2 indicates that you may choose to be docile and follow the real leader. 14.1 means that although you have got hurt because of some error, you will have some big achievement if you work hard to correct the error.33.4 suggests that you leave step by step and never regret.

It doesn't seem to be telling me the merits of the three approaches does it? Except maybe the third choice. I think I'll retreat from that one.

It's a legal matter - civil - over a contract. Since it didn't seem to be addressing my first two choices, I consulted again about the first one which is to take it to court and the answer was 6.1. I guess I won't pursue that course of action. I suspect I'm not supposed to pursue the second one either.
