It's been a long time since I used the i-ching, and need some help putting it all together. I asked 'What are the chances of x school offering me a job?' and got 45 with lines 3, 4 & 5 changing, resulting in hex 15. Line 45.3 talks about feeling isolated, which fits partly with my situation. I don't understand the other two lines, though. And does 15 mean I should accept any position that is being offered to me? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

45's about cooperative effort with the big group (working for the school you're interested in the primary candidate for this in the context of the information you've provided) and 15 is about modesty or humbling yourself. So your idea about taking any job that's offered is a really good one, I think.

When there are as many as three changing lines, I tend to ignore their individual meanings and concentrate on the big picture - the primary hexagram especially, and the relating hex.

What are your chances?

45. The group
15. All things being equal.

Your chances are equal to anyone else's in the group of applicants.
