This response seems to refer to a group, not just your question about 'holding together' (H8) with one person.
If you read the text under H45, you'll see it speaks of being totally unselfish and being willing to make a sacrifice for the well being of the group. If you act this way, you will certainly succeed.
Personally, I always ask a second question of the I Ching whenever I receive H8, because I feel there's more there to know. I usually ask: "What do I need to know about that H8 I just received." You might be surprised or further guided by the response you receive.

Don't get confused by recent events. Line 3 moving speaks of a husband and wife who are angry at each other. It is said that disorder reigns within the household.
Right now with this relationship, don't make any plans to do anything at all. "Matters have not yet reached the point at which you may take action." Things will progress step by step, not all at once.
One interpretation of H42 is that it is your wish or the other person's wish right now to gain something or receive a certain benefit. However, this is a bit tricky in a H45 situation, which calls for consistent generosity and service from everybody in the group. What is called for in a H45 situation is how we can be of service, not how we can personally benefit.
On line 4 moving in H45: It is said to "have yang in a yin position." For this reason the line is said to be "inappropriate." It's the line of the second in command, who will need great flexibility and correctness to gather both those above and those below together.
It is not the leader. Yet in many other ways it is a wonderful line, and Karcher says: "This is not a mistake." If not everybody understands this, then nothing can be done right now about the lack of understanding. Since I don't know the actual situation, it's hard for me to comment further on that.
