The question I asked was, "What does my next relationship look like?" looking for a picture of what it will be like. I have been on my own for a while and the isolation in the current state of things just has me looking for hope. I am not asking about anyone in particular just generally and seeing what comes back.

The answer I got was 46.1.2.6>22

Pushing upward. I believe this hexagram is associated with the springtime so perhaps it is something that could come together before the solstice or otherwise I may be in contact with the person or somehow planting seeds. setting things right in the south, so this may have to do with a physical location/place of meeting and connection or it may not be so literal, I don't know. successful approach and it says to not have anxiety about meeting the great man. perhaps it is someone who is in higher standing to me somehow. maybe in a field I work in as a possibility, that they are higher up in. Line 1 says advancement of myself and my own goals/work/efforts/self growth will lead me closer to him but he will still be someone of some sort of higher social standing. says for me to be confident in a healthy and balanced way is important. Line 2 says kindness and sincerity on part may help with advancement and make up for whatever difference in standing exists. a potential sacrifice on my part maybe. Line 6 warns moving forward blindly without having all the facts, or being too forward will be problematic and could prevent things from going forward further? it seems to say I will get to a point where there is a lot of advancement and success in the connection and to know when to stop pushing, it implies maybe being tempted to push for more but to find contentment instead. I am not sure what this might mean and am a little worried about line 6 but take it to mean practice gratitude and allow things to unfold at a natural pace without pushing. but also "it furthers one to be unremittingly persevering" - so don't give up? even if you don't have all the facts and should not plunge ahead blindly, persevere in a balanced way? the resulting hexagram is 22 - success, beauty, grace, creativity. I hope this is not to imply the relationship might be superficial or based on the surface/decor of things. maybe again things on the surface appearing one way. it also says success and good fortune in small matters. does this all just say take things very slowly and see? its hard to say. is there a potential for controversy somehow? the superior man is careful of controversial issues?

I am grateful on any feedback on what a potential relationship might look with this casting? what about the resulting 22 and line 6?

thank you for any time and feedback on the matter, I appreciate it!

Hope and Joy: lately, I've been looking at readings via the imagery of the trigrams - which are the three-line figures which make up the hexagrams. It's a different way of approaching a reading besides looking at the text, but that's how I'll look at this.

As an aside ... I sometimes ask: is the Yi being predictive (here's how things will be), or is it being advisory (here's what you should pay attention to)? I'm going to go with the latter - as if the Yi is offering good advice - because I think that's often how the Yi responds to us.

Here you have Hex. 46, which has the trigrams Earth above, and Wind below.

Wind below could represent your desire and 'quest' for a relationship: you are exploring, looking at different possibilities, perhaps in a gentle, but persistent way.

But here with the two moving lines (1,2) the advice might be that you need to strive for a bit more clarity in how you approach this - for example, maybe that you need to look more closely at what is it you want, and what is it you need? Or to look at what are you willing or nor willing to accept in a relationship?

The upper trigram is Earth. This could be that you want, or are looking for (or will hopefully find) someone who is down to earth and supportive.

And because Earth is about doing and making things real, there is also this sense that 'the knowing is in the doing' - that you may need to make this relationship real before you can really know how well it fits you. So the added advice here is that you should consider slowing things down a bit - maybe take some time to get to know this person better before jumping in. And this goes along with the advice of trying to be clear what it is you want.

The caution here could be that you need to balance how much you care for and support another person with how much you are cared for and supported by them; that this needs to go both ways. And also that you don't too quickly get overwhelmed by your emotions; these of course have their place, but they can at times also be unreliable guides to what is really going on.

I hope that doesn't sound too much like "relationships 101" and I hope some or all of it is of use to you.

All the best ....

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it.

Thanks for pointing out the imagery of Earth and Wind pictured in the hexagram, that is really helpful. That makes a lot of sense to me with Wind being the desire and potentially referring to my own thoughts and hopes on the matter, and Earth being hopefully the physical manifestion of a relationship- someone grounded and down to earth like you stated, definitely resonates.

It's always good to have healthy boundaries and strong clarity, what to accept and not to accept in a relationship. I feel a have done a lot of work in this area over the years and just as of yet have not experienced the physical manifestion of anything.

Thank you again for your thoughtful reply and advice!
