46 and a little synchronicity for good measure!

Just sharing a lovely reading that I just had and of course I'd welcome any comments! My life over the past 6 months has been nothing short of a circus, and it has left me with extremely fundamental questions about myself, my beliefs and how to negotiate life - I guess it's a full blown identity crisis really !

Anyway, this evening I took some time out to try and simplify not only where I'm at but who I am ! I took one of Hilary's suggested questions and asked the iChing to 'please show me something of myself', to which I got 46, unchanging. Pushing upward, heaping up the small to achieve something great is really what I needed to hear about myself at the moment. It helped remind me that behind all this questioning, re-evaluating and seeking is a sincere desire to keep progressing towards peace and happiness, and that really is part of who I am. I keep chipping away at the cr@p and keep fighting in the belief that things will get better.

So tonight I really got the sense that the iChing is like an old friend who understands me, but added to that I got a little moment of synchronicity that made me smile. After I finished my reading I logged on here to check other posts about 46, and a friend came online to tell me she'd learned to play the Journey song 'Don't Stop Believing' on the piano ... well that is one of my favo feel good songs ever! It seemed to resonate with 46 totally! That song is being played very loudly tomorrow on the way into work to set me up for the day

Thanks Steve, onwards and upwards I guess! Chipping away seems to be the thing to do, just keep at it day by day instead of trying to think too much into the future which can tend to flip one out somewhat!

Hi Applegirl,

An old business mentor once told me, it's important for a tree to grow wide and deep as well as tall. 46 is mostly about vertical growth, but in order for that to occur in a lasting and stable way (i.e. not blowing over at the first wind storm, or washing away in the first heavy rain), vertical assent must be supported by stretching and digging; the work, in other words. The sweet by and by in the sky grows out of the dirty here and now.

Thanks Meng ... that makes perfect sense. Reminds me of the idea of watering the root of a plant to produce beautiful flowers. Or Peter Gabriel's Digging in the Dirt (you can see a lot of my reference points come from music ) I guess it's also about branching out somewhat and not trying to put all your efforts into one area of growth, i.e. the way it can be tempting to grow your career to the exclusion of other areas of life. Very wise.
