Hiya, after spending quite a lot of time lurking about here, I finally decided to join. ^_^;;

A lil (boring) background info.

Okay, at the moment, I'm a gap year student, having to work a few years out due to a long story.

I'm panicking a little, life-wise. I've moved out of home and I have a job, but the trouble is they keep shaving my hours down, and I'm being paid min. wage as is the norm in my work. I'm just mega worried about money as I have the rent (£347 per month) to manage, plus food and bus fares, and I'm worried I'm gonna descend into overdraft and debt and all sorts and work won't cover it. I've been trying to search for more part-time work, but to not much avail, as you know what getting work can be like.

And with my workplace undergoing a refurb come April, I'm worried they're gonna screw me over hours-wise.

(I worry a lot, as you can see. XD)

And financially, the only person who could possibly support me is my mother, but even she's struggling herself at the moment, so I pretty much am having to do the best I can for myself right now. I've been worried about money a lot before, and was out of work for a month or so due to a sticky situation which I won't delve into here, but I still have trouble just...letting it go sometimes. So basically, I worry about being able to have enough money to live on most of the time. I just want to get back to being financially stable, and acheiving life goalsness, which is to take a couple of A Levels in science so I can go into a Science related course at University.

Anyway, all I want is sorta....be able "survive" these few months, and be stable financially and life-wise (no more shakeups), and not have to worry about whether I'm gonna have enough money.

I cast a hexagram asking about financial and general life stability, and I got back 48, changing lines 3, 4 and 6, changing to hexagram 6. (I've also been tarot-ing and the 6 of Wands pops up quite a bit at the moment.)

I'm not sure what to make of this. I understand the 6 may mean the context, i.e. the conflict around myself and that I'm worrying, but I'm not sure what The Well is meant to mean. Does it mean I should sit tight, spend as little as possible and that everything will be ok? Also, the changing lines seem to say that, yeah, although I can't get the water right now (changing line 3) that the well is being rebuilt and I'll soon be able to get the water that I need, i.e. financial stability and life stability. (lines 4 and 6). Is that right?

I'm also a lil worried about this 6 hexagram, conflict. I don't need any more of it in my life right now, I've had enough of it. :( Is it just the surrounding context of my situation?

Anyone able to offer their thoughts on this?

48, changing lines 3, 4 and 6, changing to hexagram 6

It suggests further problems with your job, even redundancy, and suggests you look elsewhere for employment as the company don't seem to need your services, times are going to be quite difficult but the promise of something better coming along is there, hopefully you will find a way to get by.
Hex 6 is about conflict and is strongly advising you to avoid any situation that can get you into problems beyond your control, so if something does come up, back off quickly.

eek. Okay, that's still a lil frightening. Should I be scared, or does the Changing lines 4 and 6 mean I shouldn't worry, somethign is coming along better. >_>;; I've just got on track somewhat with this job and I dun wanna be made redundant again.

Yeah, I'm getting a little sorta conflict at the moment, basically the shift managers keep messing up my hours and putting me on late closes, which I can't do, but they won't budge, "it's the terms you signed up to when we employed you" which was pretty much "tough luck, you'll have to pay for a taxi home". And she's always moaning at me which doesn't help. ~_~ There's one supervisor who is awesome, though. :3

The "not needing me", I think that might be coming from the whole thing that I'm still new, and the restuarant manager seems to keep me doing one thing, when I wanna expand and do a lot more. I also think aforementioned restuarant manager doesn't really like me. >_>

Anyway, I do want out of this job into something a bit more well paid, does the reading suggest that I should just make do with what I've got for now and keep going till I find something better and more well paid and suitable for me?

The "something coming up" which I should back away from quickly, does that mean a new oppurtunity which I should back off from, or if something happens which could cause conflict the thing I should back off from?

(sorry for all these questions)

Have you looked at getting a new job somewhere else? Or have you asked the Yi for advice in this situation?

It suggests that you have things to worry about in the short term but something better will come along in the longer term but of course it is up to you to find it, everything requires effort in order to succeed.

As for Hex 6, don't make waves.

I asked this week: "will my new job (in a certain industry) bring me back in contact with my old friend Sam?"

The answer was

38,2
He meets his Lord in a narrow street

Fitting I would say. Especially considering we now work in the same industry and I will likely meet her at small tradeshows etc..
