My dog Goro went for a walk yesterday evening and hasn't returned yet - it's morning here in India. He always came back after a jaunt and I do like to let my dogs run about once in a while. Trouble is he has epilepsy which I have been treating with homeopathy and I know he will be in danger if he has a fit and there's no one to help. I looked for him all over but no sign. I asked the yi last night whether he would return safely and got 48 lines 3,4,5 moving to 40.

I asked where to find him, which direction and got 29 line 2 moving to 8. I thought water seems indicated and south in 29, so I looked pretty far and wide until I reached a lake. I looked in the drains. Nothing. I went in other directions too. Do you think there is any hope of his returning? Please help.

Many thanks

Sometimes dogs go off on wanders, for reasons best known to themselves.
29.2 - I would be looking in a ravine, or some other pit - where he could not get out of perhaps - in England, a dog was found after several days down a gully on a cliff.....
Its difficult with yes or no questions,
I do hope that he is found

Let us know...

Thank you both. Yes I looked into ditches etc. but these are not many here. I walked many kilometres today all around the area, even through the forest area, yelling for him. It's heartbreaking especially because he is sick. I'll let you know but looks like I won't see him again.

48.3 makes me wonder if he is much closer than you think. With this line often the answer is simple, right there in front of our noses but somehow we forget. Think hard. Is there anywhere you dog has liked to wander off to before, any place he seems to gravitate towards ?

The last time I got 48.3 I was forgetting exactly the same problem had arisen before and the solution I used back then I had forgotten. The solution is there, it's just a question of accessing it

I have looked at my notebook on this reading.
In 1987 my old car was stolen - in a very lovely area in North London. It was an old car, but done up nicely and contained valuables like walking boots.
I asked where is my car and got 48.3 I looked and asked the Police, made an insurance claim and after 6 months eventually got a new car.

One month later, as I was walking a different walk back to the rented flat, I saw my old car. Very battered, no wheels, no seats - about 8 minutes from the tube station. Why on earth had the Police not seen it and contacted me - why had no one thought that perhaps an old car with no wheeels would likely to have been stolen.........
When I went to the Police, yes they had seen it, but thought the owner would show up. The very same station that I had reported it stolen 6 months before....

My poor old car was taken away. Not a big issue, but my walking boot (notice boot as in singular, the other one was in my bag that I had not left in the car), my jacket and my set of cassettes that I used to teach dancing - it was a great pity to lose them.

Trojina may be right - he might be just under your nose, exactly where he should be not very far from home

just thinking if you found him..
when I found my car, I had taken a slightly different route home as I remember they were digging up the main road. I took a back turning - where there was an area of scrubland. the car was actually off the public highway on parking/rubbish/development site, an area that I avoided.
just thought this might help to think of places you have not been

Hi Butterfly Spider - thank you very much but I've been everywhere. In the forest area it's difficult to go all over where it's very dense but I went everywhere calling out for him. And Trojina - thank you. He didn't have any special place because he's at home, not in a kennel outside. He did like to go down the road towards the village and then to the forest but I've done them both. I just hope kttuan is right! Many thanks all of you and I will definitely let you know.

Quite incredibly I drew 48 line 3 again today when I asked if it would be beneficial to dedicate the merit from reciting the Golden Light Sutra for my dog's perfect rebirth (one as human where he will have access to the Dharma). I am to lead these sessions at my Buddhist centre in the coming days and hopefully many will join so the merit will increase. Any thoughts? I asked in what state Goro is is now and drew hexagram 30. Clear light? After all, he's been listening to the sutras for a long time at home.

Many many thanks

The first words that came to mind when I read this were "he's alive".
30 unchanging is about survival. Fingers crossed that indeed this is what this means.

I have also drawn hexagram 40 when I asked why Goro left. Perhaps he was tired of the medicines and fits and just wanted to go somewhere and die. Poor darling.

I also feel that he is alive - very much OK
I am not getting anything sinister from the readings but as you say perhaps he decided to move to life elsewhere? Dogs do that ...

Lovely recitation btw just listened before bed

I love the name Goro too. :bows:

Thanks Butterfly spider. Glad you liked the sutra reading. My session at the Buddhist centre yesterday was poorly attended. Perhaps that's why the yi wishes that it be drawn from. I dedicated for Goro. The name means sun and prosperity. He really brought me prosperity. My spiritual mentor had named him saying hevwould repay me for my kindness. Goros best friend Choco is here. I'm sure he misses her too. These dogs were together for years. And she cried for him too. I hope he returns. Epilepsy is dangerous especially when he's on his own.
