Hello community,

Long story short I've been wanting a piano for ever. I even have a dream of sharing my music with the world - have had that since I was a child. But that's for another hexagram I'm sure...

I currently live in a 2nd floor 1 bedroom apartment with several stairs. A big karmic pattern for me has been to hold off on buying the things I know would love and enjoy because of this sense that I won't be sticking around long (i.e I always think I'll be moving or leaving). I have no plans to leave this home until the summer, however I have received several dream messages clearly indicating a move this spring. It's not in my hands and I'm not thinking of it. If I'm called to leave, then I will...

In the mean time I am poised to stay where I am till July or so. Now several months ago I helped my friend buy a beautiful piano, even put out some money because I really wanted her to have it. She is leaving and needs to find a new home for the piano in the next few days or her roomates will trash it! There is little love and respect for this piano in their home. So I have this opportunity to take it into my home and if I was clear about taking it in, I would happily invest in professional movers to help get it up the stairs.

I know I would love this piano while it is here. But I'm so worried that:
- it'll be too big for this small space
- too loud
- I'll leave soon anyway.

So I asked yi: "bringing it here, resonance with the tao?" 49.1 to 31.
I am not sure if I am the one holding myself back bc of my own conditioned thinking, or if it's just genuinely not the time to act. Clearly it's not time to act because I'm uncertain - is that perhaps what it's telling me?

LiSe writes, "There are always innumerable reasons why one thinks change is impossible. Evaluate them critically - very often they are other people's reasons and one has adopted them too easily. What is common is usually not creative."

Whereas Whilhem writes "Changes out to be undertaken only when there is nothing else to be done. Therefore at first the utmost restraint is necessary... refrain from doing anything for the time being..."

Does anyone have any more wisdom/insight into the essential meaning of line 1 in hex 49? I don't feel I understand it's essential meaning yet.

I should share too that before I asked about bringing it to my home I asked "what to do with the piano?"
I got 38.3 to 14. Hmm...
warm regards,
Ari Moshe

Hi arimoshe,

My understanding of 49.1 has been - change might come far slower than expected. I am not sure if it means you will get the piano, but not very soon, or maybe not this piano, but another one after a little while. ???

I am not sure why the Yi is asking you to wait for a while though. I am sorry, I wish I could have said otherwise, but from my limited experience, it seems like a sign to wait.

Thanks for your input Ragini. Yeah I've thought of that too. I'll update on how it goes.

(Should I get the piano?)
49.1 > 31

Take it but wrap it in the hide of a yellow cow. That is store it somewhere -- if you can afford storage costs. Somewhere where you will be able to play it from time to time. Your heart is set on this piano, and I think you should have it, but not in your small apartment. Think of the neighbors. It is hell having to listen to piano music that you do not want to hear.

Hey Goddessliss,
I did not take the Piano. I let go and let it move on elsewhere and in the end it has found itself a new and wonderful home. Incidentally my life took a wild turn and I no longer live there or anywhere fixed at the time. So now is definitely not the time for owning pianos!
