50.1 & 41.3 two career paths....

Hi all,
I am planning on moving to a new city in a few months and am currently looking at the job market in that area. I have a bit of anxiety concerning my ability to find work and make a suitable living to take care of me and my daughter (single mom). My current field is real estate and with the economy being the way it is, I am worried about being able to make ends meet unless I find a stable job that will help me make ends meet.

I asked yi about two different paths:

should i look for a job in real estate sales?
41.3>26

should i look for a job in property management?
50.1>14

The thing is....I can find a job so much quicker in sales rather than in property management due to my not having any experience in leasing or property management. Most employers in that area prefer candidates who have at least two years experience.

Of course, with sales I would not make any money until i sold a house....this would require a sizable nest egg to keep me and my daughter afloat...this is something I do not have.

I am not sure what yi is trying to tell me....I know with the first reading it seems like i will find a job but the resulting 26 is a bit worrisome as it denotes anxiety.

The 50.1 points to throwing out old ideas and concepts and starting new which is basically what I would be doing if I were to take on an entry level job in property management...the resulting 14 seems promising but then again, both readings do seem "positive" overall.

Can someone help me understand or clarify what yi could be pointing out to me?

Also, I have been toying with the idea of trying my hand at both areas simultaneously...doing leasing full-time while selling part-time. Just not sure if that would exhaust me or not. I just don't want to starve or end up on the street in a strange city.

I am feeling all sorts of nervous so I asked just a few seconds ago if I would be able to find an apartment on my second visit to this city and received 42.5>27 as the response.

I get this answer a lot from yi. Guess it means I have good karma and will be blessed?

Hate to respond to my own thread but I am feeling rather insecure and mentally bogged down with worry over this huge transition.

please consider my explanation... only if you toss coins for the first ever time about the matter.

both are right ways for you for looking a job. I think that the combination 41-> 26 is the most promising for you... because your background(26) is very useful... and also I think that you'll finally find more than a job... see third line.

the combination regarding 50-> 14 is also positive and promising.. but you need to reorganize you... but you will finally get it.

Thank you, Patro!! Hrm, i hadn't thought of the third line that way in regards to the situation....maybe I will make new friends if I take a job in sales? That would definitely be a blessing, being a stranger in a new city.

Thank you for your insight. I also hadn't considered the resulting 26 in that way. To me it usually tells me to calm down or hold on tight. Like 52 only with an emphasis on "this is going to be a bumpy ride so hold on" type of feeling. That helps to soothe my anxiety.

A few quick thoughts-- You're asking yes-no questions here, which IC does not respond to well. You might consider re-casting in terms of "what would be the consequence of.." The responses generated by this approach lead into a better understanding of the situation, and thus a better foundation for making decisions.

That being said, I find it interesting that the changing lines if both readings suggest that a "third party" of some sort is shaping this situation. Perhaps there is a lingering issue or unresolved relationship that needs to be addressed? You can move to a new city, but you can't move away from yourself...

Thank you for your response, Elias. No, no unresolved relationships here. I am waiting for my divorce to be finalized but that situation doesn't feel unresolved to me. It's just a legal formality.

And I'm still kind of involved with someone but we are waiting to see how things go once I move to decide which direction to go with that.

I gave the re-wording questions suggestion a shot and this is what yi had to say in response:

30.4.6>36

Not sure but neither of these responses seems to indicate anything that would support either choice.
22 is superficial and 30 to 36 seems painful to me....like it would be an uphill battle.
Line 4 in the 30 answer tends to tell me I am wasting my time seeking something solid from a person or situation that has outlived its usefulness.

Maybe I am reading the answers incorrectly?

It's hard to read hexes "incorrectly" unless you're willfully and deliberately imposing something on them to serve a preconceived notion. I think your general sense here is accurate -- there is little here to support your moving at this time.

Hex 22 about working in real estate indicates a lack of depth -- even if you can make a living, you may not get much satisfaction.

Hex 30.4 about property management looks even tougher -- a quick burnout. Line 6 suggests some inner work you might be doing until you get a better grasp on the situation -- something more substantial to cling to, as it were.

Thank you, Elias. I did find those links helpful. They helped shed some light on the meaning behind each hexagram.

From what I have received as responses from yi, I am thinking sales might be the better option. Even if I am not fully satisfied or fulfilled in my career, I am hoping that my daughter and I will not starve. Honestly, I could do some work part time to supplement any income that we may need if real estate proves to be rough.

Kind of wanted yi to show me some aspects I may not be seeing with my limited perspective.

No real updates so far aside from posting my resume on several job search engine sites and making new professional contacts in the city I am intending to move to.

I decided (for peace of mind) to ask again about seeking a job in sales versus property management...these were my responses....

Either the i ching is becoming tired of me asking the same questions, which I doubt...it's usually very patient with me because it knows I am nervous and just seeking clarity and deeper understanding. That and I have waited several days before asking again.

I chuckled to myself because it really does describe what a job in sales entails....putting up with all sorts of cumbersome people and maintaining a professional warm yet emotionally detached attitude.

Then, I asked: Will i be able to make a living from real estate sales?

Lots of moving lines.....26 to me means "hold on tight...this will be a heck of a ride". It also indicates anxiety and worry which is very accurate.

There are so many moving lines that I will kind of just skip them for now and look at 26 connects with 62...not flying too high too soon, or too far from one's nest. i see this as meaning i will have moderate success but not to expect to become wealthy or like Donald Trump...honestly, I do not aspire to become wealthy. Just would like to be able to make ends meet in the beginning so that response puts my mind at ease. Eventually I would like to be comfortable and make a tidy sum selling homes...but that will take time.

i am giving up on seeking a job in property management for now since it seems to be a profession that is really difficult to enter into.
