Hello dear people,

I've wanted to post on here about 50,000 times since my last one because it's so wonderfully edifying doing so, but I'm mindful of not wanting to "hog". So I hope a few weeks between drinks is enough time for me to not outwear my welcome :)

I received 50.2 > 56 as my weekly casting, where I ask "What's the theme for this upcoming week?"

Such a broad question, it could mean anything, right? But I like these mysterious broad ones; sometimes they bring the most wonderful insights. And the yi has been telling me over and over again lately about how I am in transition, that there is metamorphosis coming, that things be cooking in ye olde psyche. And here we are again.

However, then this morning I asked, "What inspiring day trip could I take this week?' I'm a writer, and I also have a chronic illness. My health has been improving steadily over recent months. Six months ago I was terribly fatigued and suicidally depressed. Things have greatly improved in the last month or so. Onwards and upwards! Ho!

I'm a little bit of a hermit by preference, but balance is always a good thing as even hermits get the blues if they don't catch up with their friends. I've just had a great weekend here where my football team won the highest accolade in the land in stupendously beautiful fashion, it is springtime, and I wish to go out some time this week and blow off some winter cobwebs and just get out and enjoy life. I also had in mind to be able to go somewhere that I would be able to write about afterwards.

The result - 50.2.4.5 > 53.

Now, that's getting interesting :)

50.2 = I'm still sitting with this, like food in a cauldron, to see what it might be saying for my weekly reading. In terms of my last query I'm wondering if it is warning me to be careful about where I choose to go, or whether to not overdo it.

50.4 = Makes me wonder if it's reinforcing 50.2 above by saying, "Actually, you're biting off more than you can chew." Or perhaps it's telling me that there is something in my situation that I need to be on guard about so that I don't create trouble.

50.5 = Puts right whatever the malady was in the previous line and makes it even better than it would have been.

As for 53, I'm not sure what this is referring to. I have received 53 quite a lot in recent months and love its layout, of the goose going from ground to flight. I like what James DeKorne says:

"A goose is a bird -- primarily a creature of the air, or realm of thought; but because it also thrives on either water or land, the goose symbolizes thought which permeates the lower two categories of consciousness -- emotion (water), and sensation (earth)."

I was rather hoping in an almost childish fashion that the Yi would give me a concrete example of where I could go to this week, but it seems that s/he is unwilling to be a travel consultant for me or to do my thinking for me this week :) Thoughts?

inner journeys, that was the first thought when I saw your both readings . They emit calmness, reassurance, hope. I love the goose's journeys , she goes with her instinct, knows when it time to pause , when it's time to travel.... she takes off and she returns home ....

maybe if you dive into the images of your readings, you will find a place out there where you can experience those feelings. its a beautiful reading !

I think that's why I posted this here for help with interpretation, because my initial thought as well was, Ahh, this is about internal stuff - again. And I wasn't sure if it was just because the majority of my interaction with the Yi is about this internal space that I couldn't see something that might be obvious.

I agree, it is a beautiful result, brimming with movement, illumination of the dark, storms. Know the Yi isn't usually so literal but it's interesting that there IS a thunderstorm forecast for this evening.

What I love about the Yi is the air of creative expectancy that comes with trying to suss out readings. It is all seeing afresh, new creative connections. And while sometimes that's frustrating when you want solid answers, in situations like this it helps with creative thinking and learning. A master teacher :)

Very true !!!

you said you are a writer. Have you ever try automatic writing ? It's reminiscent of interpreting Yi words. The way I taught it, i was given a lot of constrains and had to navigate through them and make "new creative connections", as you said.

slow(53) cooking(50) is another way to see your 50>53 reading.

btw, there is a new thread on 50 Uc where people share experiences of readings with unchanging hex. You might find something that resonates with you, or share your own experiences. :)

No, I haven't tried automatic writing ... but would you be unsurprised to know that it has been on my mind in the last week? I find the thought of it a bit scary and challenging ... but am becoming more willing to dip the toe in the waters

Hahaha, not sure if I was surprised, lol.
What I have been taught is surrealistic automation not the paranormal one I have read. Its less scary http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surrealist_automatism

The goal is to reduce the self censory, or at least be more aware of it and allow yourself be "in the flow". There are strict rules you have to follow and while it appears that confine you the work exactly the opposite, help you reduce the thinking and concentrate on writing. And connect, without intention, to subconscious thoughts , ideas, etc.... a common comment, each time we had to present our works was " where did that came from ". Sometimes can be very intense, upsetting yet there was a sense of relieve . How is delivered reminds , e of hex 47, how it is, hex 50 is one of the best explanations.

I'd be interested in hearing more of the actual technique and process you use or some further links if you have any. This is an area of great interest to me. Never heard of it before.

Unfortunately I have lost my notebook so I can't share the prompts I was given but there are various sites you can find prompts. The more nonsense the combo, the better.. What we were given where sets of words or parts of a story randomly choosen. You take those words and what follows is something like free association. Now, what is important when writing is:
Find a quite place and take you pen or computer, whatever is easier for you to be able to write fast.
Set some limits. Usually I had to write one page in one hour.
Do not reread what you write and do not correct.
Don't worry about grammar, syntax or "better" words.

Actually is like you are a secretary and your boss dictates you a text. So you just write down, even what you "hear" doesn't makes much sense.

I tried to find some links but no luck...but besides the fancy name the technique it's pretty common. No rational thinking, no censorship :lalala:

Happy :stir:

Oh, okay. I practice different forms of this then already. It's very helpful to learn what happens when you get out of the way of yourself :)
