I have a tricky situation at work to negotiate around payments. I'm not very comfortable asking for money or putting a price on what i do.

I asked iching how i should handle the issues with billing. I got 50.4.

I'm unusually stressed about this as I am normally able to resolve work issues with some reflection but this has got me stumped.

The reading looks a bit ominous.

I'd be grateful for your thoughts!

Ominous is right!
Maybe these hexagrams are describing how clumsy you feel speaking or maybe the I Ching is giving you a stern warning as to what will happen if you don't speak.
Either way I think IC is trying to inspire you to recognize you've got a real stumbling block here that shouldn't be ignored. Maybe getting some books or googling How to ask for and get paid what you're really worth or something like that, would help you get more explicit guidance.
