Hello Fellow Diviners:). Well, this one raised more questions than answers for me, really. I asked "How can I improve my health condition?" and I got 52.2.5.6>48. The health condition is insulin resistance, which means I don't metabolize glucose well and require more insulin to do so. I'm reading this as instruction to meditate. I know 52 is related to meditation, and I read in a thread that the lines correspond to chakras. So, perhaps the Yi is suggesting I need to get the energy flowing up my chakras. 48's imagery resonates with this idea for me as well. Water traveling up the trunk of a tree is similar to energy traveling up the spine during meditation. Is this maybe taliking about kundalini energy? I don't know what to make of the texts of the lines here:confused:. Could they relate to individual chakras? Line 2 sounds like it may be saying the condition will get worse, even if I change my behavior. And line 5 mentions speaking and, well, I don't see what talking has to do with it. Line 6 seems to be the goal here. So, this is my best guess. Does anyone else have any ideas? I will be eagerly awaiting your replies:).
Thanks so much:bows:

Hi Dancing WF,
You know, it's more than a little tricky using the I Ching for medical matters, even when the diviner is very familiar with the oracle.

The I Ching has advised you for now not to talk on this subject but rather take the time to sit in meditation and quiet your mind.

:duh:Oh yes... How silly of me:eek:. It never occured to me that the Yi would respond that way to such a question. I think this implies my condition is on the mend, or at least well controlled. Could have said anything, and I don't think the Yi would have responded this way if things were not going well with my health. Yes, it is just telling me to meditate, and not to worry about this. I was advised by my spirit guides, via my intuitive reader to meditate regularly, and have been slacking off. "What are the consequences of stilling my mind?" as in meditation, and I got 28.4.5>46. What ya got on that one Ginnie? Anything? Anyone got some ideas on 28>46 for a consequence of stilling the mind. Sounds like the Yi is saying I will become an old cougar, and implies I might land me a young husband:D! Hmm... Works for me:cool:...Thanks Ginnie:bows:

The health condition is insulin resistance

You could seek health advice in your meditation. In a health forum a woman said that in meditation she was told to take all wheat products out of her diet and now feels much better. Gluten is insidiously harmful to many. A no-bread diet might help with your insulin resistance.

Brilliant idea Pocossin:)! I have had flashes of insight in meditation before, so why not seek some health advice there as well. Gluten is out, as is wheat and bread. I can relate to your friend, as I too felt much better once I cut out wheat/gluten. But, I do miss a nice crunchy piece of toast once in a while, smothered in butter and salt, maybe with a little honey. BTW, I tried the pepper paprika combo as salt replacement, and that worked quite well as a salt substitute, and tastes good too:).

"What are the consequences of stilling my mind?" as in meditation, and I got 28.4.5>46.

It braces the roof beam nicely and has a rejuvenating function ...

You see, Yi cannot speak English. There is no hexagram that can say, "Eat more veggies" or
"reduce your carbs." Of necessity, there have to be other ways for us to be open to those sorts of helpful suggestions, like a meditative state, into which flashes of insight are received.

Bread seems to be a common food enemy AQ, and is something I miss terribly. Used to be able to sit down and eat a whole loaf of good Italian bread with butter or dipping oil. Thanks, Ginnie:). I see what you mean. I'll give the meditation a shot. Maybe I will have some kind of revelation:bows:.

Another thought...

One thing that the well and the mountain have in common is that neither moves. If any living thing wishes to be with them, they must go to them. Like the place named for where the Buddha sat for 49 days under the Tree of Enlightenment (the Well?), "the immovable spot". Do you run around too much? Is your metabolism unusually high? Do your emotions tend to follow those of others, or your immediate circumstances? Do you change your mind or mood a lot? Can you sit still in contentment? It doesn't have to imply literal Yogic meditation, just a settling down and allowing things and people, and life to come to you, rather than running after them. And if they don't come to you, can you still remain calm and fulfilled?

I don't know how these things might effect your glucose metabolism directly, but I do know that our bodies respond to our mental, emotional and physical response to the world we live in. Food is one big influence, but not the only influence.

That does sound like me... I'm very changeable, and run on a very high frequency by nature. I'm always drinking herbal teas, or spraying flowere essences and aromatherapy to keep me functioning on a more moderate wavelength. But, even just a conscious effort to keep my self more steady and still seems to help with that. Thanks Meng:), I never would have made that correlation with the 2 hexagrams here, but there is definitely something to that. I am trying to keep more still throughout the day, and combat my natural restlessness. And, as you guessed, this changability is not good for glucose control. Can actually be the root of the problem. Probably is in my case:eek:
