54.2.4.6 > 27, Relationship Question

Hello,

I asked for a description of my current relationship and for guidance from IC and the answer I got was 54.2.4.6 > 27

It seems that IC is telling me that I'm no longer in a position that I was before, so I need to be patient, accept the "new position" and nourish the relationship because line 6 is telling me that my current effort is somewhat wasted.

My interpretation is somewhat short but that's the core of my feeling. If anyone can provide any other perspectives, I would very much appreciate it!

There's a third person involved in the relationship.
If it's not a person, then it's something (e.g. an activity) which is more important to one of the partners than the other partner is.

54.2 - someone alone, yet they do know what's going on
54.4 - the 'lover' waits for a very long time for a 'marriage'
54.6 - a completely empty existing marriage, with no substance
27 - hunger, empty mouth

It's difficult to interpret the above combination without knowing what your position is in this triangle. Most probably the existing marriage will end, after a long time, leaving the cheated partner hungry.

At the moment you haven't got much leverage in this relationship. Based on the lines, I believe that you sometimes feel alone and also with a sense that it is up to you to keep the relationship going. Also, a feeling that both of you are just going through the motions, no deep connection, no real sense of purpose. Because you actually asked for a description of the relationship now it is hard to tell where it is heading. At the moment it is rather frustrating but only with further readings it will be possible to know whether or not it is still worth investing in.

Thank you Diamanda and Mirian !! Yes, I can see and feel that I don't have much leverage, so I did ask IC what's his feeling toward me? and I got 15. I think IC is telling me that he's trying to "balance out" his feelings (he used to cater more for me), so I guess he doesn't want to do that anymore.

I then asked if we'll both be happy if we can sort/balance things out. I need to see a light at the end of the tunnel. This is right on to what Mirian was saying whether or not it is worth investing. I got 58.1.2 >45.

58 - Joyous, Open (Hilary)
58.1- Inward harmony, good fortune.
58.2- True and confident open, regret vanishes. This line is interesting as I got this from Legge "The second line, by the rule of place, should be magnetic, but here is dynamic. Without a proper correlate above, and contiguous to the magnetic third line, he might be injuriously affected, and there would be cause for repentance. But the sincerity natural in his central position counteracts all this.

I resonate this as for my own situation, it's a warning of indulging in something negative and cannot be materialized, so I "wake up" and regret vanishes.

One more note that I asked if "we" would be happy. I'm not sure if IC's response is for both of us or just me alone. In any case, I think this is an encouraging outcome, don't you think? If anyone can shed any light to my interpretation, it is greatly appreciated!!

Hi tubinluv,

My impression about his feelings is that he is keeping a low profile attitude, even with a bit of caution, and is trying not to put any demands on you or on the relationship. He is not asking much, really, for whatever reason.
As for prospects of happiness, I would say that the answer is a yes, as long as you are both content with what you have. And especially for you I think that it's important that you adopt a more relaxed approach, just enjoy as it is and keep yourself centred and grounded. Hope that helps :bows:

Diamanda - how did you come up with the third party involvement? you got it right on the spot but I don't see how could you come up with that, can you share your thoughts. thanks

Hi tubinluv,
54 is the strongest omen of a third party involved in relationship questions. Wilhelm in his commentary explains it as a woman "taken into the family, but not as the chief wife". Tuck Chang translates Gui Mei as "the younger sister pertaining to the marriage of her elder sister (as the concubine)". Just two examples to illustrate what I meant.

i always thought that 54 is the subordinate position, you're not a top choice and have no control of the situation. However, with your explanation, i'm able to expand this knowledge. if you're a second choice between two choices then obviously there's a third party involvement and of course with the addition comments from Wilhelm and Tuck Chang as you've stated, then this makes perfect sense.
